Whitmore, I have never seen Mobil Delvac 1 at any of the Wal-Mart stores I've been to in the Pacific Northwest.
I switched to Amsoil Series 3000 5W-30 HDD about 9k ago, adding the Amsoil Dual Remote Bypass system at the same time. As I JUST submitted a sample to be analyzed, I can't comment on the results. However, prior to switching to the 5W-30 I was using Amsoil's 15W-40 HDD&M. The results of the oil analysis with the Amsoil 15W-40 were the best I had ever experienced (which include the following oils I had previously used: Valvoline/Cummins Premium Blue, Red Line synthetic and Valvoline/Cummins Premium Blue 2000 semi-synthetic).
At the time I took the sample (of Amsoil 5W-30 HDD) I replaced the Amsoil full flow filter and added about 1. 5 quarts of makeup oil. Unless the oil analysis suggests/states otherwise I will be changing my oil and both filters at an interval of 15k... oh he!!, maybe 20k.
