And I thought changing the oil filters on the new Rams would be hard!

I wonder how much they charge to remove/replace the cab, in addition to what they charge to do the actual repairs that need to be done. I also wonder if Ford trucks are designed specifically for this procedure, with minimal electrical connectors and other things to disconnect and easy access to all the bolts and fasteners that need to be undone. Of course I doubt they have quick disconnects (the type that seal up when disconnected) on heater hoses and things like that and it appears the radiator goes with the cab. It wouldn't be such a drastic procedure if it was a small number of bolts, several electrical connectors and a couple of quick disconnects. It is still difficult for the typical backyard mechanic to do but maybe jacking the cab up just a foot or more is sufficient for most repairs.

Yes, the cabs are designed to be removed easily. I believe it is 45 mins to remove and a little longer to put back on. Work on the engine is much easier/faster with it out of the way.
 
Our repair shop in Willis Texas charged us $3,400 and change to do a high pressure fuel pump replacement on our, now sold, 2009 turbo 6.4. Some do not remove the cab - take off turbo instead - local shops charge 15 hours for that. I hear taking the turbo out is a nasty repair.
