I'd like to put a group buy together for the Buckstop bumper. A minimum of 4 bumpers need to be ordered to achieve a good break on price and freight.

I live in north central Wyoming where I 90 and I 25 meet. I travel I 90 east to Omaha (daughter), I 25 to Denver (other daughter) and through Nebraska on I 80 to visit friends in my old hometown so could deliver a bumper to anyone in these areas. I believe Darian of Buckstop said I could fit two crates into the back of my truck. I wouldn't charge for mileage as I would be going to visit anyway.

So, if anyone is interested, send me a p. m.

If anyone tried to send me a pm, please try again. I received a message that I had "PM's" disabled. I did one change in "Edit Profile" (not concerning pm's) and it changed several things, including turning pm's off. Think I have it fixed, now.

I recently put a Ute bumper on my truck. After seeing how flimsy the stock bumpers are I think everyone should consider a quality replacement. For some reason the deer are really getting killed around here latetly. Seems like one a day.

I think the UTE bumper is the best looking bumper available (for anything older than 2003). But, UTE's for the 2003's and '04's are still on the drawing boards and I don't want to wait. We're just like your area. Way too many deer.

Side note: Sorry about the posting of prices. I could have sworn I did a p. m. Boy, my "confuzer" sure has been acting goofy the last couple of days. That has to be it. I couldn't be me:)

I am phoning my order to Buckstop right now, nearly hit elk, deer & moose yesterday morning. Just one of those &*%#@**&*$#@ days.

Bob,

I talked to Buckstop today. Put my name in the hopper for a powder coated black winch ready model with the grill guard for a 2004 Ram. Thanks for taking the lead on this!

Hopefully, I can get the "Wyoming" deleted from the thread title so other's will want to participate in this group buy.

I talked to Dorian, today. He is the owner of Buckstop. Bottom line-the more people who order bumpers and mention TDR and me (Bob Skinner) will be in on the deal. The price on the bumper drops the more people participate. i. e. one bumper is full retail, 2nd and 3rd at a percentage off retail, 4th bumper at wholesale. The more people over four we have, the less the average price will be (lowers the average based on the first four purchases). If we have 10 buys, the price would be $250 off retail (if I did the math right). Not quite as good of a deal as I first thought because of a mis-understanding on my part. Sorry about that.

You can call Buckstop at (800-431-6978), discuss your needs and you write the check to Buckstop. You also make your own freight plans.

If there were 3 or so bumpers going to the same area, those people could get a break on freight. Be sure to ship to a business as opposed to a personal residence to save some bucks.

There is a freight break if you ship 3 bumpers to the same location of around $90 based on shipping to Buffalo, WY. As I said in my first post, I would be happy to deliver a bumper to anyone along the routes I follow. That way, I could deliver your bumper, get to see friends or daughter's and have fun seeing the country.

By the way, DCaswell, you are in on the group purchase because you mentioned the TDR group purchase so, if we get more guys, your prices will come down a bit.

I wonder if everyone, 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation owners look at this forum? Would it be acceptable to post notes in those forums informing them about the group buy?

You bet. I hope other's take advantage of a little discount on these bumpers.

Man, I'm a nervous wreck. I can't stand the thought of the front end of my new truck getting bashed in. I'm now driving very slowly when driving at night. Heck, around here, you have to be on your toes in the daytime, too.

Get yourself a set of those deer scaring whistles that mount on or under the bumper. I commuted 20 years on roads with deer every night. Lots of close calls but no hits for me Once I put those thingies on I never saw another deer.

Properly installed they really work. The deer scoot when you're coming.

You guys will love this bumper. In my area in one week there were at least three deer hit within 2 miles of my house. When you take the stock front end off, you will be surprised at how light it is. See my readers rigs for how they look on the 3rd gen if you haven't already.

Mine were just shipped yesterday, finally, after being held up in the Oregon ice storm for a week or so. Dorian's great to work with and I can't wait for them to get here so I can get my stock bumper that was bashed up by a deer off. .

I ordered my Buckstop Winch Bumper

Called Dorian this morning and ordered my Buckstop Winch Bumper for my 2003. Mine should be shipped in 2 to 3 weeks. Looking at a $200 discount right, he says it could be more if more people order. I figured this is a great time to buy the buckstop and realize the savings. Dorian also told me he is working with the freight company to get even lower shipping rates.

Thanks Bob Skinner for setting this up for us.
