...note to myself. Do not sell old truck until new truck is in driveway. No matter how quick the delivery date is scheduled.
UPDATE: Received a call from the dealer telling me that they are praying for the 26th (scheduled delivery date)
UPDATE: Chrysler emailed me stating:

On a railcar huh? Then what? Sits in a yard for 2 weeks until a truck can deliver it to the dealer?
Looks like I can tack on a few more weeks to my order ... This is sooo incredibly sad.
It's not like I wanted anything special ... split back window .. trailer hitch ... in a Reg cab long box ... white. **Diesel***
Blueball,
Don't mean to sound like a jerk, so PLEASE don't take it that way. But you said yourself you didn't really order anything special, so why not just buy out of dealer stock? I've waited nearly 4 months myself in the past, so I feel your pain. However I was ordering a very custom rig that simply didn't exist in the northwest. Yours sounds like somebody should surely have one?
I couldn't find a reg cab longbox in white w/G-56 in the southwest.I wanted a reg cab long box .. in white. They didn't have any on the lot. Since the deliver was supposed to be 4-6 weeks, I though ... no big deal, I can wait. Thats all I've been doing ...
I also added split rear window and trailer hitch .. like I said .. nothing special really.
I will definitely buy my next one off the lot. Lesson learned.
Well, after 18 weeks I find out my truck got damaged during delivery and can not be sold as new.
Now what?
Dealer is trying to put me into something similar .. seems like a waste to have waited all this time for similar.
I still think you should force the issue about ordering a 2015 and make them discount some of the options. If it were me, I'd threaten to go to the competition (another dealer) and buy one from them, and even pay full price just out of spite. I know its not the dealers fault, but they need to put pressure on Fiat to compensate you for your troubles. When Dodge screwed me on my load flat system for the back seat, I put pressure on anyone possible, even though I didn't get it included, the service manager definitely knew when I pulled up. I just found another dealer and gave them my money, I refuse to go back there. You should use that as a bargaining chip, demand to apply your deposit to a 2015 which should have started to take orders by now.
