So, I've been fighting this hard start thing since I replaced the VP44 and lift pump. At first I thought it had something to do with the fuel tank/level. When parked up hill it would crank a while, like maybe 10-15 seconds then start just fine. When it first started doing this it would be when the fuel level indicated below half full. Then it started with fuel level just above half. Then yesterday I parked up hill again after filling the tank and this morning it did it again. So, I don't think this has anything to do with the fuel level in the tank? I replaced the water drain valve thing twice, replaced the return banjo fitting thing, pressurized the fuel system multiple times and did not find any leaks or heard any air leaks. I even ran the lift pump first before starting and this did not help. Maybe I should try two then three runs of the lift pump until it does not have any delay starting. I kind of doubt the problem is in front of the lift pump since when it starts just fine with no rough idle or sputtering or anything. Just cranks a while to start. I can leave it parked on level ground over 24hrs and all is fine. Also parked down hill no problems.
