Whooooooooooo.........

Alright, lets take a breather here;)

My point initially was to emphasize the quality I recieved from DTT & Massdiesel. I'm sure I would have recieved good service from other vendors but I chose DTT.

When I recieved a price, It was based on the mileage and usage of my transmission. Questions were asked, for example "Is my transmission currently slipping", "How is it currently shifting", "how many miles are on it currently" etc... .

I recieved a price based on these points.

In terms of getting these things in writing. If a Transmission shop gives this to you, they tend to have built in padding of the price to protect themselves from any unforseen problems. I (personally) prefer to not pay these inflated prices. When Massdiesel Opened my transmission and inspected it, he found a scored drum. The replacement cost of this drum was $210 and was not able to be forseen by Massdiesel. He gave me the option of replacing the part or utilizing the old one. I chose to install a new one, If your going to do it, DO IT RIGHT! Any other Transmission shop who gave a quote would have just reinstalled it possibly causing premature failure of my transmission.

After the Transmission work was done, Massdiesel asked me to come back in 500 - 700 miles for a tune up. This includes Changing the fluid & Filter and make any adjustments to ensure longevity. I know I'll have to pay for the fluid & filter but the adjustments are covered.

As I said before, I'm not being evasive about what I paid. A number of people have PM or Emailed me wondering what I paid and I have gladly forwarded the Information. If you would like I can forward it to you too.

Now no more:-{} be nice boys ;)

Being in the auto repair business we often see this. Bill put it best. It's impossible to give anyone an accurate estimate on most repairs on any vehicle by just guessing what's wrong with. I own my repair shop and flatly refuse to give a price to a customer over the phone. The vehicle has to inspected and sometimes tear down in order for the estimate to be accurate. We are not magicians nor have a crystal ball. One other thing you guys forget is that labor rates vary across the country and a price given in the NE may be different on other parts of the country.

SERVICE, SERVICE, is what people forget, like Bill said doesn't matter how good the parts are if the installer doesn't know what he's doing, forget it, you can't buy a Big Mac at the local famous steak house or fancy restaurant. Another thing that tends to change price is also customer attitude:eek: By the way I've personally assisted more than once Massdiesel go through these transmissions and he doesn't take any short cuts, he goes out of his way to make sure that it is done right where others may have left it alone. He has a good reputation but he earned it. :)

Wow Matt, gotta say the name change has been good for you... . Maybe I should try it. :-laf:-laf :-laf:-laf

Congrats Kevin... You lucky dog, when is the Comp coming?

Darren

DTT

Matt and the others, I look at it like this! I don't know any of the other transmission's except DTT so I can't say anything good or bad about them, but what I can tell you is I really love this transmission, man I mean everytime I get in the truck it's all good but you have to watch it cause it's real easy to spin on bad pavement and speeding becomes and issue. Anyone that is half as interested in CTD's as I am is always welcome to drive my truck as I call it the Official Oklahoma DTT test drive truck. One last thing to all, no matter who you go with the money is an issue if your on limited funds like me, but it is money well spent on the other end with peace of mind and yes it should be and should have been the first mod, but live and learn... ..... I just keep thinking of the blue clutches when it was torn down for the mod, what a sick transmission!

No:-{} Here

Darren,

Believe it or not, I talked Kevin into installing a comp on Sat. We were going to install it, then ealized that I didn't have the anti-tamper torx. :{ (Didn't need it on mine or three others I've installed) Live and learn.

I had my Trans done by scott and friends 2 months ago,yes I was skeptical. especially with all the horror stories in the automotive world. But when I left there I did not feel like I got it dry, more like I made knew friends up north. I am very happy with the work I had done and to know that a hand shake still means something.

All I can say is do your homework and you still wind up with DTT. and If you live in the north east you will wind up at MassDiesel.

Personally I tended to think of myself as a professional. After all I can screw stuff up as good as anybody.

Oh... oO * . . oO *

... feeling much better now. Too bad there isn't an icon showing what I look like after drinking diesel fuel. I've been known to bathe in diesel but never thought to drink it. From now, on, I'll put it on my pancakes :p
