2 things:

1. A motor is electric, what you have is an ENGINE. ;) As many, and most all of vehicles have--sorry my pet peave.

2. Where in NC are you? I'm on the NC line in VA, Galax area. You mention 1/4 mile, nearest to me is Rockingham, near there?

ON EDIT: heck I didnt realize you were Triton, I met you and talked at the pull after Smokin', I'm Mikey. You need to bring your truck up once done and check out Joe's new shop--NICE. BTW-I'm the one that broke the output at the drags at Smoikin'.

So a melted piston in a common rail automatically means its a stuck injector?:-laf

I hope I never toast a piston in my motor.

SO... ... . you've got a MOTOR as well, do you run it off of Litheum batterys or 3-phase with a long cord??:-laf:-laf:rolleyes:

J/K, carnage sucks as I have experinced alot of it.

I didnt realize, wasnt the post I saw on DTR about injectors..... STUPID on me. We had a a case of stuck aftermarket injectors on ScottyG's truck a couple of weeks ago, good thing it reared it's head b-4 road trip. :D

I was hoping I edited in time, but you caught me Jwilliams, 1-POINT to you. ;)

Hey Mike ! yeah I remember you. I still have the card Wes gave me and did plan to come up and see you guys. You were talking about getting a cool track going in your neck of the woods.

yeah my " engine " has seen a little fun since watching you guys have all the fun. Didn't plan to break so soon but, it's ok... I wanted a built mot... whoops " engine " anyway :) Maybe now I'll have a little competition for you guys :-laf:eek: not !

The track I was at is Atlanta dragway in Commerce GA. Are you guys planning coming down for the Hayes Mopar event there coming up in Sept? I'm pretty sure it's a DHRA event too. It should be my first official track time with the new setup.

Will definitely plan a road trip to see the new shop.

Not sure where he saw that but, he did edit his post. I don't think it had anything to do with an injector. I roasted it because of too much heat... period.

Too much pressure running the stack I was, not a long enough cool down period between runs, not enough boost... just under 40 and a stock turbo.
It was completely my own fault but, that's a day at the track. Maybe not everyone will do the damage I did but, breaking things is all a part of the game.

Now, I'll be set to pull or drag with a bit more security than a stock truck has :-laf

Not wanting to hijack this thread but for discusion perposes, I have a few quik questions. Would a stuck injector on a common rail "continualy" deliver fuel because of constant rail pressure at a full or limited rate? And how could this be discovered before damage? What would be the symptomes be? What would be the signs of a stuck injector on a 12 valve or 24 VP?

motor (plural motors)

A machine or device that converts any form of energy into mechanical energy, or imparts motion

(archaic) A motor car, or automobile

By your definition all motorcycles are electric. Tell that to a Hell's Angel:-laf

All engines have some fire in them, except computer nerd search "engines" like google, yahoo and other weird, nerdy names.

Oh, wait, some model airplanes have electric engines.

James Watt must be turning in his grave. Why have we named electric power after him, Watts?

How's this one: Why do you add MOTOR oil to your engine?

are you serious dudes ?? what does it really matter ? I think anyone who sees motor or engine will know what's being talked about.

I agree a motor is more defined by electrical current and a engine is one that has some sort of combustion but, damn ! it's a figure of speach :-laf

anyway. . that's some melted pistons ain't it ! :) :D

Who cares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a CUMMINS... ... Sorry to hear about your damage... There seems to be alot of CR failures lately. . All my pistons were in good shape except the one that was beat to crap by the valve seat that decided to jump out... .
