Just got a new S06 and I can't seem to get the "C:\D2XX Driver" found. Searched, read, tried some more. Can anybody walk me through this on my dime? Or Maybe you can just email me the driver? HELP

Thanks, Paul

First, make sure you have the proper files downloaded to your computer. See>>>

MADS Electronics - Smarty - CaTCHER - Download

Depending on the version of Windows your are running. Make a folder named whatever you
choose such as 'SMARTY' and put these files in it INCLUDING the documentation files which
you will want to have handy.

You will need to unzip the USB DRIVER file in this folder and windows asked for the driver
just point it to this folder and it will find it and install it.

Also read this thread. It is more informative.

I appreciate your answer but I need someone to walk me throught it. No matter what I seem to do the dang "C:\D2XX Drivers" "cannot be found. "

pwknapp,

Let me try to walk you thru it as I had the same problem.

- go to Windows explorer and create a new file called "Smarty Jr", then under that create "driver" and "downloads"

- to the Madselectronics and download the driver for the version of Windows you are running. Most likely, it will be XP, so you want the CDM2. 00 (this will be the driver that allows your computer to recognize the Smarty Jr).

When you double click on the driver, pick "open" and not "save". When it opens, drag and drop all of the files into your "driver" file folder. This will allow it to unzip automatically without that 7-zip that I cant figure out...

- once you finish that, connect the Smarty Jr to the computer and you should get a "new hardware found" screen.

- pick "NO" and then "Next"

- pick "install from a list or specific location", then "Next"

- check the box that says "include this locaction in the search" and then click "browse" and go find the "driver" folder you created earlier.

- pick "Next"

you should get a message that reads "please wait while the wizard installs the software"

You should be good to go.

Then, you need to download "7-zip", the newest download version and the "downloader" for the version of Windows you have.

This last part is the causing me grief, but I'm still trying...

Good luck.

I hope the Smarty people are reading this and having discussions about making this easier for us...

OK, got it to work.

- download the 7-zip software and install it.

- download the sotware upgrade "SJRV503DD211B. 7z"

- unzip the software upgrade by right clicking on it and choose "expand with" and choose the 7zip.

- once its unzipped, go the tools of Mads and download the SmartyUSB,exe downloader file.

- click "run" and before hitting the send button, click on the file tab and choose the unzipped software upgrade.

- Connect the Smarty Jr. to the computer.

- Click on the "send" button and wait 15min. It has a timer that shows you the time left.

Good luck.

Louis

LRutigliano you are a true blessing! It worked. Maybe Mads can make a cd to make all this easier for the ethernet challenged.
