I'm very serious about this!! so dont have a cow, Please.
I have stayed off the transmission threads before because i just didnt have anything to ask or contribute. well I am now looking for a transmission. I wanted to get one in around the end of this month (august). I have heard of three people that have had trouble with valve bodies and a few more with shift related problems. can those of you that have an ATS transmission address this? did you guys have any shift point or valve body problems with your installs? who did the work? did you have to play around with the TV cable to get them to act right? I now have around 400HP and plan to stop around 500. I like everything the ATS converter stands for, I am just leary about a new product and trust my resources. BUT, I stood and listened to Clint and ?? at Muncie for over an hour with Van Haisley and his son drilling them. they talk a good game, no lets make that a great game. but is it worth $900 more? i know he promised to send Van a few to play with and told him he would buy him a new transmission if they broke on him. that is a HUGE statement. I DO plan to call Van and ask if he ever recieved them.
At this point i am leaning towards DTT for two reasons, price is number one and reported troubles number two. I will not drag names into this and they are not known for complaining on here. they are legit, and i just would like to see what the trend is. maybe they just got bad units, early on.
again, if you reply to this in a negative way, plan on that post being deleted. I will not put up with it. and no one wants to hear it.
now come-on, sell me an ATS transmission
you could blow me over with a feather. feel free to take it offline if you'd like. I would understand, either way.
