Has anyone heard of a spray that counter acts the effects of road salt on metal?

On the roads where I live they use calcium chloride instead of salt. It also corrodes things badly. What has worked for me is spraying heavy duty silicone over all the exposed metal, rims etc. when they are clean and dry, below freezing doesn't seem to bother it. It forms a clear long lasting protective film and is cheap, about $2. 50 a can,two cans will do your truck easily. Good car wax will also help.

What I would suggest using is a product used to protect aircraft. The brand name is LPS and they have several different types of preventative spray products. The fella that sprays my truck uses this product. It is sprayed in a fog inside all the pannels and around all the trim. It displaces water and creeps into the body seams. I have it done each fall. Right now my truck looks like a giant salt lick, too cold to wash it,but it has no rust on it. Have found the best way to get the salt off is just flushing it away with plenty of water at the coin-op wash.
