i have a 2005 truck that has no lsd or antispin at all

what should i do? whats most bang for the buck and whats cheapest?

i get stuck all the time!

somekind of locker?

or just a simpel factory ?

what shouldi go with?

what about antispind option for rear and front?

todd is that the cheap way or the good way? that was 1000bucks :(

detroitlocker/eaton true lock will that be locked so it will move my truck sideways all the time? will it hold up for drag/street race?

I had started a seperate thread on the Grizzly locker with no response about it so I'll try here. Does anyone have any experience with it? I got stuck for the last time with the factory set up a couple weeks ago, and I'm done, its getting something that works.

if you look at summit raicing it says detroit locker / eaton
so what is it (i searched for locker and a 2005 ram)
why is it not good as daily driver?

I am not even sure if some of the cheaper LSD's are offered for the AAM 11. 5", but they aren't worth the time, effort, or money.

If you want a LSD that preforms good and you don't have to give a second thought get a Detroit Tru-Trac. If you want a selectable locker get an ARB.

I'm in the same boat. Bought my truck used and it doesn't have the LSD. Didn't think it was that big of a deal at the time, but by now I've come to hate it. I get stuck all the time. I have to use 4 wheel drive almost year around. I can get stuck on wet grass. I was going to post the exact same question.

The problem with the DL is the way it works. When it is under power, the truck will go straight ahead, as both axles turn at the same speed regardless of traction. When you make a tight turn, only the inside wheel is driving, which is hard on tires and tends to want to force your truck straight ahead. Also, if your tires are not exactly the same rolling radius, the locker will tend to steer the truck toward the smaller radius. It's hell for strong and great for sled pulling, but I wouldn't want in on the street.

My '97 E-Bay special has a lunchbox locker in it and I am not sure yet if I like it or not.

It is an aggressive bugger and will send you sideways at a seconds notice. Take a hard turn under power and you can hear the springs banging in the clutch pack.

The brand is PowerTrax, book was still in the glove box.

Just checked the website, doesn't look like they offer one for the American Axle rear end.

If you wish to contact them the site is ... .
