Just bought my first stripped AR lower. It's gotta be Ca friendly which shouldn't be hard to do. Just have to play by the rules... .
You have to use the "button Bullet" and no more than a ten round magazine.
I'm outta here in 3 months (hopefully). My AR's have been chastised for too long. I have to have a button my mini 30 too because of the "assault" stock i have on itYou should have seen the looks on these two lib snowshoer people last weekend as i was hiking out of the national forest with my AR. I smiled and waved and asked them how their day was, following with 'my what a gorgeous day it was'. Their jaws were dropped to the ground the whole time, i just smiled and trudged out on to the trail and back to the truck. These people out here have been brain washed by the puglosi's, frankenfeinstein's, brady's and so forth. Anyway that's for another time... and forum:-laf
JHawes, What type of receiver did you get? full bushmaster, and a spikes lower and the upper from my colt. I had to "lose" the lower because of its name, but i can own the spikes and bushmaster because their names aren't on the list. Liberalism really is a mental disorder. My father in law is building a . 458 Socom so that should be fun to shoot... as long as i'm not paying for ammo, sheesh.
They're a lot of fun, one can get really carried away though too. I keep mine simple though. No optics (they trained us to shoot open sights so that feels more comfortable), just a laser. You can find pinned mags but i figure why even bring that kind of attention. When people see you with one, the first thing they think is "machine gun with a banana clip", cops are enroute. Sad.
JD Machine (formerly known as Kaiser Defense). I bought it because it's made in Ca and from what I know, they make the Spikes version.
Not sure what I want to buy yet. Rock River Arms two stage trigger for sure. Other than that, I haven't a clue. So amny goodies out there!
I don't have an AR (yet!) but would like to start from this piece. I've seen them in person and they are really nice. Cost more than others, but they are beautiful!

That's the most important part of an AR lower, . . . . It's looks or engraved symbol. Whatever blows your dress up.
There are only like four companies in the US that mfg/mill these lowers for many different companies. Some have more/less milling marks than others etc etc.
The overall quality of the piece is what I was referring to. I've seen them up close and you can tell they're well made.
I bought a Geissele SSA trigger today, factory direct.
Was wanting RRA but they're backordered untill hell freezes over.
Didn't want to spend that much for a Geissele but at least I'm getting quality parts.
