I know GM is notorious for putting EDRs (Event Data Recorders), or black boxes in vehicles. I've heard Ford is also beginning to do this, but I haven't heard anything about DC doing it. At one point the data could only be downloaded and read by service techs, but now police departments and insurance companies regulary use this data in investigations. From what I've read the boxes are integrated into the air bag system and the boxes are usually under one of the seats. I haven't located an EDR, but wonder if the 3G truck are equipped with them. Anyone know what the black box story is regarding DC/Dodge?
