hey guys it looks like this thing is not going to get off the ground. have a couple of people pulling out that cant wait the 6-8 weeks for a rad. i cant blame them. i am going to wait 2 weeks before i call it quits and let this project die. if you guys are still interested pm me with all you info. what rad you would like and if you are able to wait for it. also send me your contact info phone #s address so i can get a hold of you. also to figure out shipping charges.

hope to get 12 or more orders.

Cant wait? Awwww come on guys. I still want one of the bigger units if we can make this thing fly. I think what might be making some guys nervous is the fact that they will be shelling out 600+ bucks to someone that they don't know personally. No offense, but that requires a lot of trust. I have friends i wouldn't give that kind of money to and then wait 6-8 weeks for the product. But none the less i am in if we can make it go.

Me too. . . I want one so bad I'm trying to figure out how I can minimize freight on these puppies by going to the factory myself, picking them up and dropping at a midpoint between everybody. I drive by everybody all the time and don't even know it. Probably not enough savings for anyone to get the logistics together and set this up though. Things ain't a gonna be very heavy really.

I am interested but I would like to know if they would build one first to do some testing to make sure it will do the job. By testing I mean someone who has good data towing a very big load in a very hot climate like Arizona ???

You want a prototype? Probably couldn't get one for 3 times the quoted cost. You're talking custom race car fabrication prices now.

well have not heard much from any one i am going to wait until hammer has his dyno day later this month before bailing off this sinking ship. i don't want to go down with this ship. only a few guys have sent me info. so i will see what happen next and keep you posted.

Just to be straight out for fairness, and dont take this wrong, because its not a personal shot.

Im interested in a bigger radiator too, but wouldnt ever buy one until there were some made, and they received good reviews.

Also, the price seems a little high, since you can buy a stock replacement in the 300 dollar range.

This is just my opinion, but there may be others that feel the same way, and arent taking the plunge.

If there were some on the roads, and were tested under heavy towing conditions, held up in the desert, the install was completely bolt-in, and they were built well, you would have alot more interest, includiong mine.

Definitely appreciate your efforts in this area, even though it didnt sound like it. Thank You - Im staying tuned...

I've been away for a while. I'm interested if the price is right. I've got gobs of power. It's a pity I just can't use it for very long on those high and long Colorado mountain passes.

ED,

how many people were interested in this ? If we had less than 12 people, what were the costs going to be ?

Thanks,

well i am going to wait until this weekend is over for hammers dyno run to see if we can get a couple of more people. i think that we have just about enough. i will pm all the guys that are interested.

ED

i need every one that is interested in a rad to send me a pm. to get a final count but i think that there is enough to swing 12. but i am not sure. there was some people that were not sure and the numbers have changed so even if you have sent me a pm before send me another one with all your contact info phone# so i can talk to you and address to figure out shipping.

ED

all right guys i need every ones attn. the price 675. 00 for the 1 1/2'' tubes and 575. 00 for the 1 1/4'' tubes shipping extra. i need every body name and phone # where i can get a hold of you. i don't want to call your house or work asking for your screen name and feel like an a$$. the payment will be in advance and once it is all collected it will be sent down to griffin so the custom order of rads can be made. 6-8 weeks the rads will be shipped straight to you from griffin. this is the list that i have of people interested please look and confirm also if you pmed me before please do it again so i know who is still in.

so that is 14 yes and 4 ? i need you guys to get back to me asap so i can get this thing rolling. the quicker you get in touch with me the faster i can get this thing off the ground. now remember guys i am taking the rad out of my truck and shipping it down to GRIFFIN. SO I AM GOING TO BE WITH OUT A TRUCK FOR A WHILE. SO MAKE SURE THAT YOU WANT TO DO DO THIS I DON'T WANT ANY ONE TO CALL LATER AND SAY THEY HAVE TO BACK OUT. THAT IS WHY GRIFFIN TAKES THE MONEY UP FRONT. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY $800 TO $1000 FOR A CUSTOM RAD LET ALONE PURCHASE 12 OF THESE RADS FOR THE DISCOUNT PRICE. THAT IS WHY I AM TRYING TO PUT TOGETHER A GROUP BY.

THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT GUYS

ED, I know what you mean. On the other hand. . . I'm taking a gamble that this will solve my problem. Just dropped a load in Texas, hotter than heck. Every gauge I have was maxed out. Not really, the transmission temp never got over 210. But the EGT had no problem climbing past 1425 for short periods. I finally decided it wasn't worth it and backed out of it to 60 MPH. Coolant was max right and boiled over/out several times. Stopped frequently and let it cool down enough I could add water/antifreeze to refill. Never seen it this hot, so hot that the oil pressure dropped down to the middle of the factory guage. It's pretty obvious I need better cooling. Also need to get the exhaust opened up as soon as I can. Think I gotta bottle neck there. At any rate my rad needs replacing, so I'm actually just paying the difference tween a new stock one and the custom job. By the time they get here the snow will be flying. Hope they take freezing well. Anybody ask the builder about this? Most are probably concerned with just the overheating problem, I haven't been out on the road in the winter yet, but imagine it can get cold in Minnisota. Does the regular 50/50 mix protect the aluminum from splitting?

Steve J.
