I though I read were the stocker flows way more then these fans![]()
Actually its the mass of the alternator that keeps rotating over the stopped belt.I have read that the "chirp" often heard on shutdown is the
rotating mass of the OEM clutch fan
Does anyone know why the electric fans would not work well for towing?
Very Interesting !!
Another potential benefit comes to mind-
I have read that the "chirp" often heard on shutdown is the
rotating mass of the OEM clutch fan, squealing on the fan belt briefly.
(ie. that the fan assembly doesn't stop as quickly as the engine when shut off)
... and that this is a significant source of wear on the serpentine belt.
Seems that eliminating the clutch fan assembly would then also
eliminate the shutdown chirp, maybe extending serpentine belt life ?
