was this a good deal?

Mazda CX-9.... Opinions-Thoughts...

I bought my first Harley in Oct after i got home from my second deployment. Got a 08 Night Train with the Screamin Eagle cone shaped intake and Rhineheardt exhaust. Just barely hit 500 miles a few weeks ago before headin out of town for work.

Since the picture (taken at the dealer on pick up) I removed the reflectors, put on smoked signal lights (front and back), a 3 bar led brake light, new grips, and a side mount licence plate mount. Not much I know, but trying to balance mods between the HD and CTD.

07 Screaming eagle dyna . I Hate the look of my reflectors on the front forks but man I can only think about the additional visibility they give me. I've ridden dirt all of my life and just got tired of the broke bones I went for about 8 yrs. w/o riding and had numerous other hobbies and nothing came close to dirt bikes. So I bought my harley june of 07 and I enjoy it but no where near the feeling of taking my aggressions out in the national forests on a dirt bike, sorry for me thats the be all to end all. The harley is a good hobby and I guess I am lucky to have found the thing in life that I love (dirt bikes). I have a 110 cu. i. screaming eagle race tuned /dyno tuned 103hp/ 112trq. w/ 2into1 rinehart pipes and think you will be blown away with how much performance the same money will buy for your truck, spend 1100. 00 on your truck and I swear it will feel like a rocket.

07 ElectraGlide Classic. I waited all my life to get the bike of my dreams. My wife had never ridden before and was apprehensive. Now I can't keep her off of it;)

Just bought my second CTD (see sig) and absolutely love it. Now if I can figure a way to haul a 5er and my Hog, I'll be set!!

Started out when I was 16 on a 1963, Sprint H, 250 HD, one lunger have been riding many diffferent ones over the years but have a 2001 Fat Boy, Python pipes, stage one, stipped down nothing fancy! The only way to fly low!

I bought my first Harley in 1957, a 1952 K-Model. (The beginning of the Sportsters)

I was 14 at the time, and lived in Bakersfield, Ca. I had some crazy/wild times on that thing.

I've had many other HDs and dirt bikes in the last 50 years since, and it seems they are all just getting better and better.

I now ride a 2003 HD Electra Glide Classic, and a 2007 Honda 450 CRFX, with a street legal Baja lighting kit on it.

They are both fun bikes to ride, but that Honda is handfull, street or dirt.

I know I'll have to give it up one of these days, but I refuse to think about it.

Congrats on your first HD! What a great time you'll have with it. My wife and I have an 03 Electraglide Ultra and rode it from CT to Wisconsin in 03 for HD's 100 birthday. Life doesn't get much better than traveling cross country on a Harley. There is nowhere you will go that people won't be friendly to you if you're on one. Hope you get many years out of it. A fitting gift to yourself after deployment!

By the way, RHeinemann, you CAN take both with you! That's the whole reason I started modding my truck.

I've got an 02 Sporty 883 I bombed to a 1200. Got drag pipes, forward controls and a few other chrome goodies. I'm just a little guy so I got a little scooter. Nice for knocking around town on, not so nice for long rides.

My sporty is a 2001. 883 converted to a 1200, with Andrews cams, and a little head work. Agreed about the long rides, but it sure is fun around town.

My upgrade came as a kit from Zippers Performance. I asked about the cams, but everyone said the stock cams (California bike) were fine. So I left it alone. My next bombs (if I decide to do more) would be a Baker XL6 transmission and a Dragon wide tire kit.

Had a '02 883 Sporty a few years back. Toying with the idea of getting a full dresser maybe!:) anyone tell me what the Stage I kit was back in '99? Was it just pipes and an air filter?

Yeah a stage 1 kit is basically pipes, an air cleaner, and either carb jet kit or one of those chips to give you more fuel.

I myself have an 07 night train... it was not stock even when it left the dealer. The only thing that I did not change was the forks, tins, wheels and frame. It has apes, cables, L. E. D. gauges, custom made seat, new headlight, L. E. D. tailight (black), grips, pegs, mirror... yes I only have one, L. E. D. turn signals (hidden), lowered, and has a stage II 103 big bore motor on it. The only thing I want for it now are c&c ported heads but those are like 2 grand... . #@$%!

Its is fast and reliable as it is now but it doesnt hurt to go a little faster... :-laf

Been to a couple rallies here and there with it and has never let me down. Before that I had a 01 sportster... I rode that on a cross state ride to go see a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert... that sucked going 80 or so on a sporty all day. When we got back 2 days later I had a new bike :D Mines the black one and I am wearing the black sturgis shirt..... a buddy just smoked a dear going close to 50 or 60 by the time it impacted... . he was fine, kept it up, he bent the fender up a bit, bent it back down, cleaned out his pants, and we kept going. the dear had a bad day though... broke its back/hip.

Nice looking bike, I have had a couple since I started working for the Motor Company, an '01 Springer. Very nice bike for cruisin'. If you want to go fast get a V-Rod, I had one of those for a few years, now I'm looking at an 08' Road Glide. I think I need something a little more comfortable, something with music.

Got my first one back in July. I got an 07 Road King CustomOo. Love it, but hate it. The list of things I want is nearly as long as what I want for my truck. I'm finding that two hobbies is expensive. Can't wait for some warmer weather with clear skies, these mid 50 degree days with overcast and rain is killing me. :{

Funny how we each have a different perspective. In CT mid 50's and overcast in January is biker gold! I used to take my first one out all winter when it got anywhere near 40, but the road salt did a number on it, so I don't do that anymore. Figured the new (well, new in 03) one would last longer without the accelerated rotting. Come spring, though, most of us here will ride starting in the mid 30's to 40 degrees just to shake off the winter blahs and cabin fever. Can't wait. Maybe another 6 weeks to go!!

I've got an '04 Road King Custom. The wife's got an '05 Sportster Custom.

Never seems to be enough time to work and ride.

If only I could choose... ... ... ... .....

First of all, a big hearty thanks for your service 13MWZ!

And yes, I'm a fellow handle bar twister. Been on two wheels since me & dad built me a mini bike at 6 yrs old. Been on Harleys since 1980. Since then I've built and painted my own custom and still dabble a little in custom paint when I have the time. My current ride is a 2005 Road King Custom.

Mine is an 07 Road King Classic. First Harley I've ever owned and I love it.

As soon as the snow melts enough to get out of my driveway I'll be riding again.
