I’m contemplating the installation of “Cummins Turbo Thermal Insulation System by ATP.
Does anyone know of heat issues with installing their blanket around engine components?
Does it retain the diesel sound yet quite thinks down a bit in the cab?

Refer to "Product Reviews" - Member Reviews - "Advanced Thermal Products Sound/Thermal System" Sound reduction is 25%

Ihave the APT system on my truck. My wife loves it. It really lowers the noise in the the. It takes a littlelonger to cool down the turbo, but it's worth the trade off. Call ATP and talk to Tim , he;s very helpfull.

Yes,
Read Millfly's review. I was contemplating, but decided to wait until I could afford the full package. Also, be aware, some mods will prevent you from realizing the potential noise reduction because they increase noise, so have your total game plan. Don't go installing noise reduction, then backtrack by installing the Psychotty air unit, for example. Both products are good, but have very different goals, so know which set of goals is most important to you. The Pyschotty is good for performance, but has a side effect that it "pipes" noise into your cab. Some people like the turbo and engine noise; some don't - know which group you are in before you spend your $

It’s ironic that you mention BOMBING for a specific goal. I was thinking to myself: gauges, 4” exhaust, K&N, PE or PowerMax, 275 or DDIII’s and a sound reduction system to bring it back to normal noise levels (primarily in the cab). I didn’t realize that the Psychotty ends up piping noise into the cab. I really appreciate your input on this. This is such a cool web site!! My trunk is only D1 status and I’m already a BOMBAHOLCI.
