Great Smoke Stories! split (smog side)

My wifes 97 Legacy Outback million dollar special POS is threatening not to start when hot. Cranks for a long time before firing. I suspect some type of electrical module but don't like replacing parts at random. Any help would be appreciated. Oh Yeah car runs fine, just hard to start when warm (after driving long enough to get it to normal temps)

I say the car is a POS because it leaks oil like crazy, both from the front seals and rear seals. Started leaking around 65000 miles.

If I can unload this thing she's gonna get my truck and I'll go get myself a 12valve to play with. ;)

Whoah thats odd. My Bro in laws 1986 GL lasted 230,000 , My Dads ... The body rotted Off before it quit. Mine ... . I just couldn't have it AND the truck. All In All they are great cars. Sorry you have a bummer. Sounds like the ignition module is on its way.

Older ones were great

TMTT

I agree that the older ones were great I had a 79 that was bulletproof. Probably still tooling around somewhere.

I have visited some Subie sights and have discovered that Leaks are very common:mad: Anyway I guess most cars including the CTD have some Gremlins. It's just that the Subie's problems are not easily fixed and I have no intrest in Bombing it (at least not in the meaning we are used to here)

I agree on the ignition module theory I was just fishin. You really appreciate the TDR when you have problems on other vehicles. Guess I will post on the Subaru site. BTW I also have a 91 Trooper that just runs great, even at 175,000 miles. I learned a lot about them at ITOG before it succummed to a virus.

See Ya
