How Heavy can I go?

Towing in overdrive

Hi all: My truck just broke past 10k miles on her and she hasnt had any weight tied to her. She needs broke in bad! Anyone have a trailer or something they need moved that I could use to flog my rig a little? I am anxious to make this thing sweat a little.

Just go to U-Haul and rent a car carrier trailer for the weekend. Then load up your wife's or girlfriend's car and make a couple of trips back and forth to Vail.

That outta take care of it! Oo.

You can come out here and tow my 12K 5th wheel from Santa Rosa to Mojave for me on Dec 30th. And then return it to Santa Rosa on Jan 4th.

Couldn't resist:)

Good thinkin RoadRanger!! I hadnt thought of that. If I haul my wifes 02 Explorer around the mountains a couple hundred miles will that be sufficient enough of a flogging for breakin?

Just make sure you get the real trailer, not a wheels up tow dolly.

Oh... . and leave the window down..... the Cummins sounds sweeeeet under a load. :D

Shovelhead, how many miles should I flog the truck with? Guessing the exploder must weigh around 4,500 lbs and trailer around 1,800. How many miles should I run her in the mountains for break in? Let the Turbo Scream!!

I don't know if only a couple of hundred miles will 'break in' these Cummins'... .

My truck is used mainly to haul around a slide in camper and a 7500 lb Cargo trailer, and it took around 15,000 miles to notice a change in fuel milage. JMHO
