Not Yet, But Would Rather Have It In The Head Rests, Looks Cleaner.

I agree, the Laramie Mega I ordered came with damn near everything less the dvd and bucket seats. I like the in the head rest option much better let alone when you can have 2 different dvd's in there so they don't argue.

when and where do I look to see the status of my truck?

First you need the VON number. This will be on the upper RS of the order paper the dealer might have printed out for you. Or the dealer can give it to you.

Once you have that number, call 1-800-992-1997 and follow the menu prompts for customer. After you call them have them open a "care case" for you. Next time you call use the care case number.

Once they give you a tracking code, go to Dodgeram.org and see what that code means.

The people on the dodge phoneline don't have as much information as the dealer does. Once it is released from the factory this phone number is useless. after it ships the dealer might give you a rail car number. go to UPRR to track the rail car.

If you truck is built in Mexico and is heading to the NE US, it will be trucked by train 1/2 way SE through mexico to the boat docks where it loaded on a boat and sent to Baltimore.

For all you new members out here reading this thread while waiting for your new truck. Don't forget the $500. 00 rebate if your a member of your state Farm Bureau. In PA you have to be a member for something like 30 days before you can use the rebate. here is the info from Dodges website.

For members of a participating Farm Bureau, an additional U. S. cash allowance of $500 may be available through 9/30/06 on the purchase or lease of an eligible 2006 Dodge truck or 2006 Magnum. Please see your Farm Bureau Representative or Dodge dealer for eligibility requirements and program details.

Farm Bureau is a federally registered service mark of the American Farm Bureau Federation.

If its a mega cab it might only take 8 weeks (as long as you don't live in the NE US). The mega cabs seem to get loaded on the train in mexico before the quad cabs. (mine is a quad cab)

Mine sat in a parking lot at the factory for almost 2 months before it got loaded on the train heading to the boat docks.

Add 2 weeks on the boat, then it sat at the docks in baltimore for 3. 5 weeks (costoms?).

Today it gets moved to another parking lot in Baltimore waiting for a truck to deliver it to the dealer.

Just think, 127 days after I ordered it (18. 1 weeks), 20 pages to this post with 293 replies.

I called the salesman, He's off until Friday night! I ask for the manager, He's off today! "can anybody else help you?" she ask. I replied "do you have anybody that can help me get my truck after waiting 18 weeks?"

"Oh, this must be Mr. (my name)?" She continues "Your in luck, it came in last night with a shipment of 15 trucks! Its already been through PDI, let me take your number and have someone call you"

:D :D :D :D

I told them I will pick it up tonight if it's OK with them.

Just in time for tonights forcasted snow/ice storm

iI am glad it finally came in . mine is due in any day now, its been ordered since jan. 26. good luck with your new rig. joe.

Wow! I did not test drive one before buying it. What a difference from the 2nd gen dually. I think I am going to love this rack and pinion steering!

Once I got home I lowered the tire pressure by 10psi in the front and 15psi rear to where it should be, can't wait to drive it again. :)

Oh please explain this one to me.

The new trucks have Rack and Pinion steering on the 2wd models. Although I only drove it around 30 miles I could notice the difference in how it steers right away. As far as the tire pressure, I could tell it was high because the way the steering felt. Anyway, on the way home I hit the same bump that always jarred my teeth in the 02 and it was so much smoother!

The engine is so quiet. I had a 98, then an 02. The 02 was much noisier then the 98. I have a 12 year old Daughter who talks way to quiet, now I can hear her. Also the change from 245 HP to 325 HP can be felt right away :).

The trans shifts nice, and I feel the gear ratio choice is correct. It feels like it really likes running between 1500-2000, but the engine is still tight.

Driving country roads home the Overhead was saying 20mpg but I hear that can't be trusted. I went and filled it up to get some winterized diesel added to the mexican fuel it came with.

No rattles could be heard on first drive. Paint looks great, but I am heading out to put a coat of wax on it today in the heated garage :)

Last night I installed the tono cover and front mud flaps to keep the stones off the side. Still have the rear mud flaps, nurf bars, snow tires, exhaust brake, and trailer hitch left to install, plus I have to design the bracket for the Jordan since this has the new style moving pedals. Got the Sirius turned on and the garage door opener programed. Once I get the hitch installed I have to take it back off so I can get the Linex liner installed. Got to go back to the dealer and sign the rest of the paperwork. I need to get them to clean under the hood also, it covered with this white dust.

Yes the wait was way to long. I even caught myself driving through the GM lot more then once. (never did go near the ford lot though, I get to hear about all the problems my brother has with his 04 :-laf ).

Thanks for the info towpro,

I see the new 4500 info is out and I am happy I ordered my mega cab on 2/22,realy don't see anything to wait for yet. I will keep old reliable with less emisions for now. maybe when they offer the 4500 with a p/u bed and mega cab I will think about it. by then the new engine and trans combo will show there colors.

Hey Will, Congratulations I am glad it is finally here, good luck and Enjoy it you have waited so long.

It already can tow my RV faster then my Guardian Angle can fly. No need to modify it.

I will put the exhaust brake on as soon as I get a free weekend, does that count?
