If you mean the nerf bars, yeah I put my own on. It took all of about 1 hour to do it. I used Westin brand. They are strong and easy to install. I noticed on www.ranchhand.com there was a set for 145. 00. I have a Ranch hand brush guard and it is really heavy duty. If their step are as high quality as their brush guard I would not hesitate to buy them, plus they are $30. 00 cheaper than the Westins. just my $. 02 Check out my web page to see the steps and brush guard

I installed the Mopar brushed aluminum steps on my '00. I like them much better than the Westins I had on my 96. The Mopar's have 2 braces that attach to the body lip for added support. (You will bend the bars before you bend the body lip) I also liked the brushed aluminum look. They are expensive though. As we all know, you get what you pay for. Check my sig for a pic.

Check out www.johnwalls.com He buys in bulk and has good prices on all major brands of 4x4 accessories. He has taken good care of me. He is also a small business rather than a nat'l chain, and I prefer to spend my money with him. He told me about a week ago that he has 1500 pairs of nerf bars, so I'm sure he has what you are looking for. E-mail me for more info.

P. S. I don't work for him... I just like him because he is honest and takes care of his customers.

BTW My brother got a pair of GO Rhino! nerf bars from him and we put them on his 95 Ram. Installation was straight forward, not to hard, and I think they are very strong. No drilling into the frame (uses existing holes), just a few small holes for braces in the bottom of the cab. I have stood on a set of [Censored] brand nerf bars and they bent!

I went with the Smittybilt nerf bars also. They have a 400lb capacity, and attach to the frame. I wouldn't usy any bars that mount to the body because they will wrinkle your sheetmetal if you ever high-center while 4wheeling or accidentally hit something.

I am looking at getting the kodiak steps. These steps will fold up under the truck when the door is closed, and fold back down when the door is opened. These are not cheap $179 each, and for a Quad Cab you'll need four if you want to do the half doors also. Web site for Kodiak Products

I put on the mopar preium molded running boards part # 82202470 I believe. They have a hell of a lot of parts when you lay them out but they disapear pretty quickly when start putting them on. Took me about 2 1/2 hours to put 'em on,and I'm a perfectionist so I spent more time on the little details than some people might . All you need is a cordless drill, screwdriver, and a couple of sockets to do the job.

I liked these because ( lets face it with the 4x4,you definatly need a step to get in ) the unpainted version matches my black truck perfectly, they protect the rocker panels and dually fenders from gravel rash, they wont allow my small children's legs to slip between the step and the body, and they are incredibly strong and look great.

If you are not set on nerf bars, stop by your dealer and look at 'em. I think I paid $440. 00 for the kit. I am very happy with them.

Thats my . 02 cents well maybe . 05 cents

I put on Westin Nerf bars. The instructions were good and the job took me about 1. 5 hours without having to work very hard. We love them. My wife used to have to take a running jump to get in the truck.

I installed the Warn steps,(not the long boards, just the approx. 14" steps). I liked them because they are the only ones that I found that bolted to the frame. The others attach to the body, (very light duty !!!). I did NOT want Nerd Bars on my truck!!!

Yes, I installed a set of J&J stainless steel Nerf-N-Step bars on my truck. After two years they still look brand new. They get a little scratched, whip out the metal polish, and they're good to go. They are a combination nerf bar and running boards. There is a step for each door. See their website www.j-jent.com . -Glen

I put on Lund fiberglass side steps. It was easy to do and they blend in so well it looks like the truck was built that way. I have a black truck and ordered black steps so I didn't have to paint them. Other colors have to be painted before installing. I had to drill into the rocker panels but I painted the holes after drilling and installed the screws with clear silicone. That was four years ago and still no sign of any rust where I drilled. BTW I live in salty road country. (Minnesota)

I am using the full length 2 piece aluminum diamondplate running boards from JC Whitney. They're not expensive, and they go with the "all business" look of our trucks. They weren't exactly easy to install, but they do mount to the frame.

I installed the deflecta-shield diamond plate boards. They mount a little differently - nothing touches the frame.

In researching this I learned that the body and the frame move separately. So if you get boards that mount to the frame you might not want them connected to the body, and vice versa, as this can be a stress point and be noisy.

I learned some things during the installation and would do things a little differently than the instructions say next time.
