I run a 12 inch slick and its on a 16" wheel, but i have a 5/16 inch spacer and i ground down the caliple a bit. When i broke intermediate shafts and this output, its always been while staging. So as long as you have good brakes, it gonna brake regardless of what tire you have. Thanks for the good info guys. I think in the near future we will be needing billet outputs to put heavy trucks down the track faster. Only problem is finding the next weak link after the 2wd output shaft.

So, if you can’t ascertain an upgrade, then relief is just around the corner,

In December at the Orlando PRI show their’s going to be a major supplier introducing their new RH/RE 300 output shafts, a little birdie told me.

I heard that if doused with Geoduck secretions the output hardens up to 17. 99% compared to the new stocker. Even more benificial after the cryo treatment... .....

Reb I'd say you need to look at your tune-up. If you're using the nitrous to stage then you have something a bit off. That might be what you should look at.

About Comp's wheels and tires. They were a 17" wheel on the rear with a 390 wide drag radial.

That 2wd quad cab short bed at full weight (nothing removed, except a passenger, luggage, and cameras-but the truck was all there) ran 11. 7 and the bottle didn't hit till after coming off the line.

well set up is unique you can say. I've never gotten a good launch so far. Little problems with Torque manament. My last pass had a MPH of 119. 5. My NOS set-up is not the ordinarry NOS set-up. Its multi-stage and just a hint of NOS is sprayed at the line. I'm not wanting to run 11. 70, i want at least 11. 10 or high 10's

I'm not trying to say that you're shooting for 11. 7s

I was just showing you one example.

119 not bad at all.

The best speed I've knocked out of a 2wd 3rd gen in the 1/4 was 117. 5 but I think the tires were limiting me a little on the top end.

Also the nitrous didn't come on till after the launch. Maybe the ET could have come down while being more aggressive on the line, but more boost off of the line and the 2wd was blowing the tires away. All I was pulling off that day were 11. 5s

That was with caltracs and drag radials (315s then).

But it did drive home while pulling a buddy's 04 (the 04 shattered an input shaft).
