Competition How Much Does Your Sled Weigh?

Before the tire police start ranting, these tires are on an off road only machine used to plow the shared private driveway. 42" dia swamper tsl with 90% tread. No bead locks. All four have slow leaks.Tubes in that size are pricey and not recommended where the possibility of the tire slipping on the rim exists. Liquitube: good or waste of time? Any other tips on sealing weather checked tires without using tubes?

The stuff sounds too good to be true. You say the tires are weather checked… How bad? If there are deep cracks, I tend to doubt that such a product will help you get more life out of the tires…But then again. I'm really curious myself on how good this product works, or if anything, maybe if you're adventurous enough, give it a shot, and write up your experiences, and lets see if this stuff really works as advertised

I both use liquitube in my tires and sell it, I am happy with the way it works and so far no one that I have sold it to has come back to tear me a new and most of them have come back to get more. The farm down the road had success sealing weather cracks on their liquid manure spreader.

Turns out there are too many tire sealant products out there. Liquitube, Ameriseal, STS Tire seal, Gemplers, Slime, Berrymans, Monster Seal, Texas Refinery, KTB Products Corp, Equal, Petersen Supply Co, Rock N Road Products, etc. Prices are all over the map. I ended up with Borg OTR Fiberseal which is supposedly formulated for low speed off road tires. It was also the cheapest at $ 70.00 for 5 gallons. I just broke the bead and poured the stuff in. It has been a few months now and the tires are still holding air. Below is a picture of the worst tire, which I didn't realize was so bad since the bad side was facing in.
So far I'd say it was worth $70 of sealant to get a few more years out of tires that would cost $500 each to replace at today's prices.

Did some snow plowing the other day and realized I haven't had to air up the tires in a while. So it has been about 2-1/2 years since adding the sealant and I think I've only had to add air two or three times. I figure that counts as a success, at least for low speed tires anyway. Ymmv
