The code did indeed get me 5% off.
But I didn't order all I wanted due to an ongoing problem RockAuto has with their shipping calculator.
I ordered the following t-style steering components for my '96 upgrade (I have purchased all the parts gradually to spread the cost out. You all know how I just love spending $$ on the
dod
ge front steering...

) :
Anyway, the smallest, lightest-weight, cheapest part is the small adjuster sleeve Moog ES2012S.
Shipping for the other parts I ordered today was very reasonable: @ $10
Adding that smallest of parts to the order jumped the shipping by $11, or more than double! But wait, it gets even weirder:
Removing it from that order and placing an entirely separate order for it (another box to ship) is $2 CHEAPER than ordering it with the other parts.
Bear in mind the other parts are rather heavy (two tierod ends and the large adjusting sleeve), yet still ship cheaper than this tiniest part!
I brought this to RockAuto's attention months ago when I first started pricing and buying the parts for my steering. They assured me they would "look into it". The obvious problem is that some knucklehead has entered FAR too great a weight into their computer for that small sleeve. They have it weighing and costing MORE to ship than the huge tierod!!
Any way i try it, that one stupid $22 sleeve ends up being $31 to $33 with shipping. It is cheaper locally at any Moog dealer, so I will not buy it from RockAuto.
OK, I admit it is more annoyance than problem, but the fact that RockAuto customer service said they would investigate that problem, after agreeing it made no sense, then they failed to do so, bothers me.
So take advantage of the good prices and fast shipping from RockAuto, but always watch that shipping calculator as you add parts to your basket. A couple of items like that could quickly negate any savings from buying from them.
