I bought my Ram off the lot. It has the
solid 1 piece glass rear window and I would
love the slider. Anyone in Texas want to
trade? Of course I'd pay the difference
within reason.

What is the approximate price for one if I
went to my local DC parts counter? I know,
I could call them and find out but it is
Sat. night as I type this. .

Thanks!

Last year when my 'ol 99 got broken into the 2nd time,I went down to the Dodge dealer to see how much a replacement sliding window was... $340 bucks! You can buy one of those power sliding windows for that price! Just so you know, the reason I had to price out a new sliding window, was because that's how the theif broke in... two flathead screwdrivers bent the frame 'til the little latch popped! The truck I have now has a solid glass.

My father stopped getting a rear slider in his last 2 pickups. He siad with A/C they never opened it anyway.

My neighbor has a Chevy with solid rear glass AND rear defog in the glass. I thought that was nifty especially considering from the front seats you cannot easily reach the rear glass to wipe fog.

I'm sure the alarm didn't go off until AFTER the fact when the thief opened the door to ... leave.
Do you feel the power slider isn't secure enough to slow the midnight auto techs? Any other reasoning for going solid? With or without a slider you got a purdy truck

My truck doesn't have the rear slider, but if I had to do it over again I would definitely order it with the truck. The $120 or so option is worth it just for the factory tinted glass all the way around IMO. Aftermarket window tinting doesn't come close to factory tinting because it is applied to the glass instead of being part of it, so it is easily scratched and has visible texture to it.

It is unfortunate sliders are villian magnets. I've heard of guys using small sticks in the channel to make it impossible to open them, but that won't stop a crook from trying, and screwing it up anyway. But as I said before, I'd order the slider option if I had it to do over again, but then replace it with a power slider with the tint option (hopefully integrated vs. applied tinting) and sell off the OEM unit. Hindsight is always 20/20 I guess.

I might consider a deal. I have been thinking about a regular window but am not sure I want to. What do you have in mind?

I had a 95 Nissan with rear slider and it was
the way a thief accessed my truck. Bent the
frame near the latch like above post. All the
SOB got was some change for the toll booths.

I had a slider in my Chevy pickup and a Leer
cap with a slider, and my dog could go from
the cab to the back and my skinny butt could
too if I wanted too. Also the slider would
allow some relief from wind blast when
driving with the side windows open at highway
speeds (try it sometime, the wind doesn't hit
you right in the face off the mirrors).

There are pros and cons, so I decided to try
to find a sliding rear window. Not a real
urgent deal though! #ad
Thanks.

If a sliding back glass out of a 92 D-350 will work I have one since I went with a sleeper unit on mine. Mike
