I was wanting to know if anyone would be interested in getting a BUCKSTOP bumper ? I had been thinking about it, and called the company. Depending on how many want one, depends on the price break. Also if you are close, probally with-in 2-3 hundred miles, we can share the shipping and that will save quiet abit. They are not as complicated as some of the other I checked into, the BUCKSTOP comes pretty much with all the options, winch mount, recessed light buckets, receiver hitch, ect. You get choice of color. If you would like to see it go to www.buckstop.com .

I was also considering one, but from what I've heard, if you have the standard suspension ( not having the snow plow package. I think that's what is was called ), you'd have to put heavier springs to compensate for the added weight.

So far my 3500 with dual 046's seems to be handling it just fine. The real test is going to be when I add my slide-in into the equation. You won't be dissappointed with the Buckstop. I will be posting pics when I get the time.

P. S. I also have an added 138-lb winch.

I might consider it, but again, the price is the big issue. I see they now have a bumper for a 1st Gen. Oo. :D Looks real nice too!

Found anymore out on this. Got one yet? What is the price on these bumpers? I couldnt find any pricing on their website. What kind of price break are we lookin at? Im in High Point, NC, which is about 450-500 miles from you I believe. I dont know if that would be worth trying to save on shipping or not.

tmckenzie - there are no prices listed on their site, so I did an inquiry under the "contact us" link, or whatever it is. For my 1st Gen. , it's $1200 for a front, and $400 for a rear, $350 if bought at the same time as the front. Their response time was so good that the auto-response email that tells you that your email will be replied to soon came AFTER a real person had emailed me with the prices - can't complain about that!

Right now it's a little more money than I have to spend, so I think I'll back out, unless there is a HUGE price break.

Well I left the post alone for a few days trying to Gage it's popularity. It doesn't appear that there are two meany people that would be interested. The poster before e was close, the bumpers go for 1299. 00 and the break we would receive is dependent on the number we buy. For 2-3 about a 5% discount. For 4-8 10-12% discount and for 9-14 maybe 18-20% discount. The real price break would come in the shipping. That is why I said anyone in my area (I figured up to 300 miles), the normal shipping cost for one bumper is 190-210. We could save an additional 100 dollars or more as a group. It looks like maybe a savings of 2-3 hundred would or could be possible.

I'm still in. Let me know what happens with this. I got the same quick response time on a ? I sent them. For my 04, they said around $1400 and a whole bunch for shipping. But they do look good.

y-knot, do ya think we could negotaite a TDR Buckstop group purchase with shipping to different states?

I hit a big deer on I-44 north of Tulsa last year, he was already down in the fast lane, I hate to think of what would have happened had he been up on his feet.

I just exchanged some e-mails with Buckstop. A non-winch, non-tow hook bumper starts at $850. That does come with 6" light buckets. I am tempted!

If we had enough people we could have several delivery sites (people that would be willing to volunteer) and make this easier for people to do. The shipping is the biggest saver, so I would think you would want at least three people to an address. You can get the bumpers as stated with out the grill guards, or winch mount.

If you would like the non-winch mount bumper the price drops down to 850. 00 (there will be a price break, but until we get some people I can not figure it in) this bumper is almost like the ones pictured except the center section in 3/16" steel not 1/4". The winch door and grill guard are also deleted. for options on this bumper TOW-HOOKS 45. 00, 2" RECEIVER 90. 00

On the winch mount buckstop, you can delete the grill guard also and take off 125. 00. Again it is not possible to give the final price till everyone is in, but it seems like we will save 150-200 per bumper and another 100 or so on shipping.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, let me know.

I got this response in return to a question on colors available:

I think I am going to go with "C" for a Timberline Green truck.

There are 4 color options:

a) Standard metallic silver as seen all over the website

b) Steel grey - this color is somewhat of a charcoal grey. See pic.

c) Gold vein. This is a hammer tone finish like the mid 80's suburban

shown on the "products" page of the website (dark grey). The only

difference is that the Suburban bumper is a silver vein. The finish is

actually a combination of black and silver. In your case the finish

would be a combination of black and gold - looks tannish from a

distance.

d) Matching gold powder coat. This is the finish on the Ford with the

big lift on the home page of the website. It is a custom one-off

finish and costs $175 additional.

I'm ready to order. Is anybody else ready to order?

Lets get all the guys who want to order, and ONE of us will call Buckstop and talk to the owner or manager, and try to get us a good discount.

What say you?

We can make a list of names, styles and addresses, and ask them what kind of discount they will make us.

If you guys could, get all your options you want, type of bumper, color, and address together and PM me with it. We have till now had 3-4 people say they wanted one, couple others were still on the fence. We only need a few more and this thing will work great for all of us. Some will not save as much as others, the reason being shipping. I am located in KY, and originally was thinking anyone in a 300 mile radius we could share shipping. If you guys PM me with the info, maybe we can have several shipment, to different areas, so the savings will be higher?
