Anyone need something pulled to Alaska this summer?

Looks like anomad is moving to Montana over the summer. I will most likely be driving out with a uhaul trailer and coming back empty to get another load and wrap things up to complete the move. Late May timeframe.



So, does anyone need/want something pulled up from Montana or surrounding states? Currently, I have a bumper pull only on my '95 2500. But, I am drilled and wired for a 5'er hitch and could pull off my shell and install a hitch if I don't foot the bill. .

Where abouts are you settling? My home and wife are in Bozeman. When I was in high school it was a cow college town of 10K. Now... . well its depressing to think about. Yuppie City, Orvis dude land to the max. Can't get the wife even to consider pulling up stakes and moving to a smaller berg. Oh, well she's happy there and that takes a load off me (I call her the Bozeman welcome wagon). We are one of those complimentary type couples. I've got my moutains and mules and she's got her big city and people.



Our neighbors have a commercial fishing boat in Cordova. They head up in April, fish all summer, and scoot back in October. Then they spend fall and winter hunting big game, birds, and water fowl. They are also two time Dodge Cummins owners (98 and 03). Plus he use to have a boat with a Cummins. She is originally a Pinedale/Lander gal. Now, they are one of those "two peas in a pod" couple. Do EVERYTHING together. Well, looks like you got me gabbing about MT and home. Good luck with the move.

We'll be heading to Butte. Actually the better half is going there first and I will come down after I get things squared away up here in Fairbanks. Hence the trip back up.



My cousin went to school in Bozeman, actually I think he just went to party and fish. But I haven't been there in about 10 years... . I hate to think.

Just razing you. Having graduated HS from Helena there was always a lot of rivalry between Helena, Butte, Bozeman, and Great Falls.



Actually, my best friend, a carpenter millwright, now lives in Butte. They bought their house for $7K. Just don't buy one over a stope!

I was born in Butte, raised in Pipestone (ya 2 houses to the right of the camp ground) Anaconda, Missoula and Florence. Still had grandparents in Butte up until a few years ago, you probly couldnt talk me into living there again though.

Yep, the butt of Montana! Here I come..... As I recall the mountains around there are pretty nice.





Update: I am buying a cargo trailer. I will be pulling that back up on my return trip. But it will be empty.

Sooo, I will offer to to bring something up to Alaska as long as its legal and will fit in a 6x12 trailer.

Sorry to see you go anomad. I grew up in Montana as well, and I'm sure you will like it. I am sorry to hear you are moving to Butt. Don't drink the water and hide during St. Patty's day!!!



What kind of cargo trailer is it?? I have a car I need brought up to Fairbanks from Denton MT(near Lewistown). Not to far out of your way. If your interested let me know.



If not no worries, I gotta head to Missoula and Bozeman this fall anyways. Have a safe trip!

I won't miss the winters, but there is a lot I will miss. Montana winters are no picnic, for this southern boy. At least they don't last quite as long or hit quite as hard.



Its a 6x12 enclosed wells cargo, so unless its a go-cart I think you'll have to go get it yourself.

As I recall the mountains around there are pretty nice.

Some very nice mountains close by. And you won't need an airplane, river boat, tracked vehicle, or swamp buggy to get there. Plus, once you are there you can hike around without rubber boots. If you have a mind to, you'll enjoy it.
