I was thiking about changing to toyo's. Does anyone have any feedback? Are they comparable to the bfg or good year price wise and wear wise. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks DAVE.....

Hey Dave. I've been running a set of MTs for a couple of thousand miles now. Used the T-Rex wheels and 12. 5x35x18 tires. Very good tires. My first set of NON-BFG All terrains since 1985, and I love them. The sidewalls are most impressive, and give me great confidence around rocks. Maybe a little more noise than the ATs but not much. A little more than the BFGs $ wise, but not a lot. Hope this helps

Greg

Love the Toyo Open Country A/Ts. They have lasted for 50,000 on my 2001 Ford Durastroke (or whatever you want to call it!?). They are quiet, good looking, ride well, etc. Put em on my new 600 as well. 325/60/18 size. About 33", and lots of rubber on the road!

:--)

I have 24K on my Toyo A/T's and am happy, I would buy them again. I don't do much off road but do use 4x4 in the winter. Last winter they were excellent on snow covered highways, wet & dry traction is excellent and they are very quiet.

They do pick up small rocks more than the GDY AT/S (my favorite) but not as bad as the BFG A/T's. It a quality tire that balances well.

Most local independent tire shops can order them. Where we are buying local means free rotations & flat repairs plus no hassles if there are any troubles.

Check out the load rating of the Toyo MTs in 315/75r16:

3860 POUNDS!!!! That's about 400lb MORE per tire than the 265 E rated Michs that came stock.....

These tires in this size are the leading contendahs for my next set of tires.

Anyone running toyo AT'S OR MT'S???

Kinda. I'm running Nitto ATs which are the same as the Toyos (i. e. , Nitto and Toyo are one in the same and made from the same plant) just slightly different treat design. Very happy so far. Good traction (wet or dry) both on and off road. Most important, they look good :)

Also, the 33" tire (295/70/17) is rated at 3,600 lbs. Best I've found so far in a 33" tire.

P. S. The load capacity on their website of 3,150 is incorrect.

dave, i FINALLY wore out my 35" bfg mt's and FINALLY put in my 6" superlift last week and decided to go with the toyo mt's.

i got mine at les schwab and the prices were;

37x12. 5x17 swamper ssr radial $ 1488. 00

37x12. 5x17 bfg mud terrain $ 1538. 00

37x13. 5x17 toyo mud terrain $ 1368. 00

first impresions are,, more road noise than the bfg mt's but not alot.

i had them rebalanced and they seem to balanced now, dont think the kid who mounted them took the time to get them right. they are better in the mud than the bfg mt's. mine are 10 ply and load range E for what its worth, i dont tow much with the 37's.

I installed 285 Toyos on my 1995 2500 and the new owner had them warrenty replaced at 36000 miles. We was quite unhappy with them. I have them on my 2001 3500 and they are not wearing well at all I will be lucky to get 30,000 out of them. The next tires will come from BF or Michelin. I really thought I would save money by going Toyos and low and behold I got exactly what I paid for. My local Schwab dealer has not been helpful at all. IMHO

i guess i need to update my sig. dont know about rpm's but i've done 80 on my speedo and its set to the stock calibration, dont know how fast that is but it's moving right along. i'm almost 2/10's off per mile and if i do 65 mph on my speedo i dont get passed much on the interstate so it must be around 75-78?? just a guess thou.

What is the max tire pressure on the sidewall of that new 295/70R17?

60lbs. I believe their website states 35lbs. but I called before purchasing because something did not smell right. Confirmed 60lbs on sidewall after purchasing. Good tire but their website is not very accurate.

i cant stand the big rim sizes these days, i think it looks gay. i waited for months for the 37's on a 17" wheel, i like the look of more rubber. i use my truck off road alot and expect it to perform, i didnt buy it to pound the pavement and look like a pimp. whats next?? 44" tires w/ 22" spinners???
