Anyone who uses/has used Edge EZ!!

First question I have an 2001 HO should I hook the boost elbow up with the EZ or just leave it stock? Also I am running Amsoil 15W 40 how often should I change the oil running the EZ? thanks all

I would hook up the boost elbow,it will help lower EGT's. You do not need to hook it up,but I would ,especially since the ETH runs hot EGT wise anyway. I would just keep changing the oil like you have been,the EZ doesnt add enough fuel to load the oil with anymore soot.

I beg to differ with all you guys. My son and I have twin 98. 5 trucks. Mine with an EZ, His with out. My oil turns black in a thousand miles and his is hardly black in five thousand miles.



When I get on mine it makes smoke. I used to be able to hide the car behind me, but the BHAF cut the smoke down a lot.



You can look at the rear fenders where the tail pipe is and see which one smokes. I drained my Amsoil and put Rotella back in to go with normal timed oil changes. I don't like my oil that black. But I will never remove the EZ. It transformed my truck.

I have the HO and EZ, but only get a little more smoke. I've been using Delvac 1300 and the oil comes out the same dark green with our without the EZ. WyoJim: Did you hook up the boost elbow? You didn't say.

Yes the boost elbow is hooked up and I can get 28 pounds of boost. The EZ knocked most of a second off stop watch 0 to 60 times and the boost elbow knocked most of another second off. The BHAF knocked almost another second off.



Fuel mileage increase with the EZ was not noticable, but I have got the best yet last fall with the BHAF. 22 + MPG

98. 5 -- isnt' that close to the 12 -> 24 valve switch. Which to you have?

I run a 2001 with an auto trans. the edge folks tell me the elbow doesnt do anything for the 2001. My understanding is its because the 2001 have a differant waste gate or something. Anyway when I put my ez in at Gillette diesel he gave me the elbow and said put in the glove box isnt needed on 2001. So Im confused?

The elbow doesn't work on a 2001 auto because the HY-35 has a hardline for the actuator. HX-35's have a rubber hose so you can replace the elbow.



On HY-35's you need to do one of a couple of things, reduce the inside diam. of the hardline with a 22 cal shell or, (more prefered) use a turn-buckle on the actuator.

22+ hook a little boost to that prop and you may see 29+



Or block two of the injector lines and turn it into a four cylinder and you may get 45+ mpg.
