Are there decent aftermarket fuel filters that fit the Mopar mount assembly's?

I have bought 6 from Genos - but now I have 6 extra of the Mopar frame mounted fuel assembly's.
It's only $39.00 but I really don't need more assembly's.

Plus the motor located nano fuel filter is $77.00 without the canister - filter only...

On my 06 with the severduty filter add on I used a
Baldwin BF1385-SPS but I think they may have changed the treads on the mount right after I added mine. I think I had the 68083826AA rather than the 68083823AB you have.

@AH64ID may know a cross reference on the newer mount.
 
I don’t have my notes with me, but I don’t recall any cross reference filters but I’ll look into it a little.
 
OP, do you know the thread size or have a part number on the filter? It appears the kit that Geno's sells is the cheapest way to go. If that filter is a Baldwin BF46050 it is expensive so is the BF1385-sps if that is the one you have. The BF46050 has a thread size of M16-1.5....the BF1385-sps is 1-14.

Scroll down to the reviews on this link, they say it is the correct filter for Mopar, but not sure what one you have.

The cheapest I found the BF46050 is a two pack from e-bay

I have the Mopar SDFK on my '06 and switched to Mann filters. I used to use the Mopar SDFK Filters, but they got real expensive and hard to find, so I now use https://www.dieselfiltersonline.com/parts-search/pl-250-1-mann-fuel-water-separator-n-a.html and they work great.
 
Mine is the Mopar 68083826AA. However the baldwin canisters "only" are the same price as the Mopar canister with the new heater assembly.

What about the engine (front) fuel filter - are there any reputable cheaper aftermarket ones available?

On my 06 I did the baldwin over the moper canister partially because it had better specs than the mopar. It was something like 20um vs 30um (working from memory so don't hold me to absolute numbers) and slightly better water separation.
 
No, suitable aftermarket fuel filters for me. On all 6 Ram-Cummins trucks I've owned, I've only used Mopar (rebranded Fleetguard) and Fleetguard fuel filters. I buy them from Genos. I know there may be suitable fuel filter replacements, but for my part, only Fleetguard works for me.

Fleetguard is my go to until I find filters with better specs. Only OEM filter on my 05 was the air filter, as Baldwin/Donaldson/Cat all had better filters. The 18, and soon to be 22, will stick with OEM everywhere but the oil filter, you just can’t beat the DBL7349.

John, funny thing, I switched from Fleetguard oil filters to Donaldson and the very first one I used developed a minute leak in the top seam... go figure. I really don't research any of these filters... I rely on my TDR buds to do that and occasional TDR mag articles. I appreciate all the info.

DBL or P series?

I got a bad one two years ago, I wonder if they were the same vintage. Minimal oil seepage, but I changed it anyways. I’ve only ran the DBL/ELF7349 and never had one do that before. Anything made by man can have issues.

The standard Fleetguard is a 35um absolute filter, the Stratopore is a 25um absolute filter, and the DBL7349 is a 15um absolute filter.

Yep, DBL-7349. I guess I should blame you :), one of your posts convinced me to deviate from Statopore to Donaldson. It was just an amazing coincidence. I usually buy 6 filters from Genos, so had used the last one on the 1st oil change on the 5500. Being the type A I am, I conduct monthly full inspections on my vehicles, which includes visual undercarriage. This is where I spotted moist filter, wiped it, drove it, and it came back. So, popped it off and grabbed another one. No problemo now.:D
 
When I purchased my 09 4500, Daimler-Chrysler had a military discount of $500 off purchase price and free oil/filter changes for 3 years and I used them all. It was basic Mopar oil filter and their bulk 15W-40 Dino oil. I was a happy camper with no detriment to the engine.
