Yes. . I include Trivia in this poll because I think Trivia is equal to Nonsense and this is my poll. If you think Trivia is not Nonsense then go start your own poll :)

If we take Trivia and Nonsense out of the Other Forum all we will read about is Gasser problems and Politics.

Give me your vote and help me decide which fork to follow in life :)

Doc

i see no problem with way off the wall off topic posting in the "others" section. isn't that what it is here for? some of the more recent ones have been odd, but fun none the less to read. there were ones like the fart one that had me crying from laughing so hard. . this other forums is like the office watercooler or smoke corner. . just general BS chat that has nothing to do with anything important, but just to kill time... long live the nonsence and trivia and various other BS on the OTHER forum

Hey Doc, have you ever heard the saying of " I'm scitsofrenic and so am I "? well thats me :D , I have 2 sides I can be serious and problem solving and I can also let my hair down as a stress reliever :)

I guess I can go to the truck catigories to get stressed up and then visit the other side to laugh and relieve stress.

I like the Other forum, and the absurdity of some topics. I guess some of our fellow members take themselves too seriously.

(in my best Dennis Miller voice) I don't want to get on a rant here, but.....

Some feel it is beneath them to post anywhere other than the drivetrain forums and they criticize those who post in the other forum frequently.

I am very comfortable with my mechanical ability. I am a mechanical engineer with 13 years experience, and I am responsible for solving problems on a fleet of 8000 (gas) engines that cost up to $2,500,000. 00 each.

I don't need to demonstrate my abilities on this website, or any other, in order to increase my self-esteem. Furthermore, I am not a "mad bomber" "puller" or "drag racer"; I just drive my truck and pull things with it occasionally. I don't have enough money or time for big$ add-ons, and I try to maintain my rig well enough that I don't HAVE to work on it, thus I don't have much to add. I usually only post my views when I have seen or done the same thing on my truck.

So, go ahead and call me a "romper-room poster"; It won't hurt my feelings. I will continue to read Doc's, Whitmore's and anyone else's stuff as long as it continues to make me laugh.

I am obviously glad to have the TDR as a useful resource for issues concerning my truck, and I have learned alot from reading everyone else's posts. I also like to share a joke or an opinion with people I like: Other CTD Owners.

Anyway.

LIGHTEN UP!!

Don't overlook or ignore the big difference between an "other" forum for non-diesel stuff, and an "anything goes" forum, that encourages off-color stuff that can quickly get out of hand - there's a big difference between discussing baseball teams and vacations - and what you'd like to do with your neighbors wife or daughter... Sometimes, that seems where these forums lead when controls are relaxed - is that what YOU really want, or come here for?

Doc follow that fork that leads to Whitmore and then you will know which way to go(don't let anybody influence your decision on your journey). But if he's not there keep following it till you get to the end and then:eek: I smell gas. Did I do that? What is gas?Where does it come from?Anyway when you get to the end you should know which way to go. But if your not sure wait till Whitmore gets there and put your heads:-{} and see what you come up with. He will follow you. Or you will follow him till you get there way up high on the other side of the hill and cross over to the other side. And maybe on the other side you will find the other fork. What kind of fork is it you are looking for?Is it a fork you eat with, fork in the road, tunning fork, fork truck,a branch, forca.

This is the first post I read. Sometimes the only one I get a chance to read at work. Need the stress relief at times. Need a place to be Politicaly incorrect. Just as long as we don't get in the gutter.

From what I have seen, the moderators appear to do a very good job keeping the off-color stuff out.

The other forum is the place for this stuff. Granted it gets way out there sometimes but as long as it doesn't get into the gutter what the heck. I can choose to read or not. Although on occassion it seems there is an inordinate amount of it.

I initially joined this board over a year ago to get information and ask questions about bombing. I'm a member of quite a few other boards for other interests as well. This is the only one I frequent on a daily basis. Why is that you ask? I've met many people on here that I've come to enjoy chatting with or discussing topics with.

To me the TDR is more than just about Diesels, it's about camaraderie. I've been on the net since it foundations and before that, I was on BBS's and other types of systems. I've found that the biggest problem currently with the internet is that every one wants to institute their own idea of what the internet should be and can only be what they see in their eyes. The greatest thing about this thing called the internet is that it is every changing, "Morphing" if you will. You will always have the extremes of one side or another *****ing and complaining about restrictions not being enough or being too tight. Me personally, their ain't much that offends me in this world except for people that are so narrow-minded that they can't see past thier own nose (my father is a good example). Course I've done more in my first 30 years than most people will ever think about accomplishing in their whole life.

Me personally, I'm not a dodge fan, and will probably never buy another one in my life, I love the Cummins. This is "MY" opinion. You have yours, and as long as you just express yours and don't try to shove it down my throat (along with your ideal of morals), all is well. What I have a problem with are those that seem to feel they have the holy cause of dictating what should or should not be discussed, what is morally right and wrong. To me those types of people are just as evil as the Enviro Nazi's everyone on here ******* about.

On a side note, I enjoy the "OTHER" forum immensely, censorship should not be dictated, it should be self enforced, don't view what offends or upsets you, life goes on after all. If you don't want your children reading bad things on the internet or viewing things "YOU" don't believe they should, then it is your responsibility to ensure they don't, not some moderators, or some politician or who ever else. REPEAT AFTER ME..... IT IS YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY.

This is my "OPINION" and take it for what it's worth, not a damned thing, just like everyone elses.....

Morph.
