The back seat DVD system has to be what makes cars what they are today. :-laf

I think mechanical brakes got a bad name from people who did not understand maintainance and the old thin steel drums many cars came with. I know that at least for the Model A ford the drums get so thin after 40-75 years they will overheat in one good stops because there is no mass to absorb the heat of stopping. Put new cast iron drums on and seems like most people are very happy with the mech drums.

Still no answer? Any age?

What brand vehicle had 3 pedals. Left, low neutral high, middle reverse, right brake? Describe the brake action. What type of lubrication system in the engine. Where was the gas tank?

One I can't remember why was one tire sometimes jacked up to crank it?

Model "T" Ford. I think the transmission had dry bands. I don't know how the engine was lubed. The rear wheel was jacked up when cranking to keep from being run over if it started. bg

There is one answer that I am looking for. You will all agree when it is guessed or I spill the answer. There are many advances that make most automobiles reliable taday. The computer is one and probably one of the biggest but the engines still wouldn't run hundreds of thousands of miles with the oils that was available in years past. Metals have been improved, coolants, lube systems better charging systems, better batteries, everything is way ahead of what we had in the thirties, fourties and fifties. bg
