There are three possible components to AZ registration. The actual registration, which is reasonable, the fee based on weight, which may/may not apply, and is still fairly reasonable, THEN the commie VLT fee, which is based on the value and age of the vehicle, and is outrageous. It's the "because we can" fee.

Plus, if you license for over 10k you pay a Motor Carrier fee and a Diesel fee and postage, Lol

And that's a single year, correct?
If so, that's about the same as Calif.
The BOHICA FEE formula, Because We Can Formula and when all else fails...….. WE NEED MO MONEY, haven't figured out what for, but we need it. We'll spend it on something, gives us time and we'll ask for MORE!
As most everyone on here knows, CALIF PERS retirement system is taking the entire state down. So 2-3 years ago they needed MO MONEY for the Calif. Highway Patrol Retirement PERS, so they added $10 to EVERY SINGLE vehicle registered in the entire state, every year!
