Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) AT with second and third gear only

The other day after startup (wich is very hard but that is a different story) I had only second and third gear on my Automatic trany. I stayed like that all day. Yesterday everything was fine, today same problem. I went to a local trans guy, he read the codes. I have 1693, low voltage was showing and then 3 and 4th solenoid or something. According to him it's probably dirt?



Can anyone help?

please? With the dirth he meant in the oil, needing to flush the lines etc

the govenor solenoid may need to be replaced. simple and cheap fix

is this solenoid inside the trans? I also had problems with lock up before this occured

yes it is , time to invest in a factory service manual. the manual is a great investmenst

Today I finally made time to have a look at the transmission.

Oil was burned and kots of metal and dirth on the magnet.



Looks like I need a rebuild
