Help with an auto transmission problem on a Ford Mustang

Just wonding... . Anyone got an address or anything for DC? I'm tired of not being able to get ATF+4 other then from the dealer and am going to file a complaint with the FTC. My suggestion to everyone is to file a complaint with the FTC under the Magnason Moss act.

Here's more info on ATF+4 suits: ILMA complaint

I recently contacted Quaker State Oil to inquire if any of it's transmission fluids meet the MOPAR ATF+4 specification. Here is the entire reply: "You can use Pennzoil Multi-vehicle atf fluid. "

I suspect that the reply is incorrect!

The shop I work at in the afternoons is now getting a compatible fluid from the local NAPA dealer. I believe it is made by Valvoline. According to our bulk oil supplier Quaker State is supposed to be working on something also but it is not ready for market yet.

I'm home for the day already. I'll check on the manufacturer and product number of the stuff we are using tomorrow.

Later,

Paul

Here's the deal on the warrenty. If the fluid isn't approved by DCX, the warrenty is worthless if something happens. Doesn't make a difference if Quaker State or Valvoline says it's compatible.

Without DCX giving approval for these oil companies to use thier spec or formula, it's not going to be warrenty approved. If DCX has a patent on the spec, which I think they do, how can a different company make the fuild with the same spec without DCX approval? It's just like those aftermarket parts that insurances comes try to pass off on repairs. They look decent, but some don't fit right, some easily rust thru and some do both.

Can't remember if it was on this or another site but there was a guy that got denied a warrenty claim becuase he used an unapproved fluid, which was Amsoil. DCX did evenutally cover it, but it wasn't becuase Amsoil met the spec, it was done as a courtesy becuase he was a loyal customer that had purchased many vehicles from DCX.

Now if you want to join me with a complaint to the FTC, here's the link.
