Yep, 4wd launch, and my Goerend torque converter is the low stall version, so I don't build the boost I would at a higher stall. Did you install the boost fooler? My Insight read 37. 2 before the fooler install, and 23 after with no other changes.
I went on your link to check out your Smarty mount, but link didn't work, although that is exactly what I want!! Can you check out your link please, so I can see it? Thanks.

my insight read 23lbs before and after i installed the boost fooler. I think if you disconnect your fooler yours will still read 23. I think you had the 37 reading with the JR. if i am not mistaken. If so maybe it has something to do with the Smarty? I don't know how to fix the link. If you do a search on smarty mount you will find my thread. Let me know if you can't and i'll try it again. I also have an OBD port splitter giving me the ability to have the Insight hooked up and tune with Smarty while i drive at the same time.

Nope, I was definitely getting 37 ish with both Smartys, just went to 23 after the boost fooler. I was just on Geno's Garage site looking at gauges. Christmas is coming up! Say, can we celebrate Halloween with presents?? I don't see why notOo.

SShafranko, just found your link to the Smarty mount. I like the way you mounted it, unfortunately, with my automatic and fold out cupholders I can't mount it like yours. I'll find a way... Does yours "wiggle" going down the road, and is that tube flexible?

It doesn't wiggle at all or make any type of noise. Noise drives me crazy! The tube is a flex tube and you can bend it anywhere you like. I went to radio shack and bought an 18 inch flexible microphone tube. I also bought two base mounts for the tube. The base mounts are threaded and screw into the tube. One on the bottom mounted to the plastic and one is mounted to the back of the Smarty so that i can spinn it off and remove the Smarty at will. The flex tube is chrome but i slid a piece of wire loom over it to hide the Smarty wire inside of it. I was looking at GPS mounts before i went this route. Walk around Radio Shack for a while and you will find the right set up for your application with a little imagination. Good luck!

What's the max rpms you guys are able to get with your smarty. I can see 3500 betweens shifts which makes me a little nervous about valve float. I've been thinking of spings.

Me too. I've been real careful with it and paying close attention to my shift points. A shift light would probably be a good idea.

Another update on my Aurora Plus 4000 compound turbo setup. . now that I have a mechanical boost gauge installed and am reading boost from a boost bolt in the intake ( I didn't use the port from the CFM+ because I wanted to compare mechanical boost vs. what my MAP sensor was showing) and I am getting 44 psi. I will next try SW9 on Smarty and see what happens. I'll let you guys know.

How's the smoke?? I had one of my guys follow me at night while I rolled the throttle on, and under full boost I had no smoke!! (SW#7) I then slowed down to let him catch up... (slowed WAY down:-laf) and then gave it half throttle and accelerated that way, and still no smoke. . I'm one of those guys who doesn't like smoke... I know... weird.

On SW#9, it looks like there is a slight gray haze in my rear-view mirror, but I can't pay attention too long at what's behind me. . everything in front of me catches up too quickly!!!

Boost is very responsive, my last 500 miles is with the twins and my mpg (hand calc. of course) was 15. 64. There was a lot of full throttle miles in there too! I fully expect that if I drive normally, that I would get 16. 5 in my normal, in-town driving, which is pretty much what I got before twins.

My mechanical boost gauge reads 44psi measured at boost bolt from intake. I can hit 46 on SW#9, but will probably go back to SW#7 or back off SW#9 pod a little.

Also, Keep in mind that I still have my catalytic converter in place, and plan on keeping it in place too.

I don't like smoke either. That's my only complain about the Smarty, it is smokey. I'm running the TNT SW now on 9 but at 70%. Runs nice but if I dump the throttle (especially with the TC locked) I can cause quite the cloud. It'll also smoke at high boost near or at WOT. It's not too bad but considering the air flow modes I have, I wished for better.

I always use stock TQ. Smoke for one reason, but I also like the way it drives just fine stock and it's easier on the transmission. With the above settings and mild TQ , I feel like I need to be easy on the throttle on wet pavement to keep it from spinning.

I agree. I'll have to soften up my TQ setting too. Today in the rain, I went up a very steep hill (maybe 8-10%) with cruise set at 40 mph. Once I started climbing, boost shot up to 32 and spun the tires!! That won't be too fun in the upcoming snowy months!

Not really. I have the Smarty Sr. at level 1 for the winter, still get 42 psi, zero smoke, even at quick throttle at idle. I'm using a mechanical gauge reading pressure from a boost bolt I bought from Geno's Garage.
Nothing leaks, everything functions properly... pretty much runs like it did with Smarty Jr. on Economy setting and a single turbo, so it's nice to have that adjustability for different weather conditions. All said, I'm pleased with it.

Update?

Have you towed anything with this system? I am considering this system, but want to be sure that when towing, the EGTs drop enough to justify the purchase. I've been the big single route, and was disappointed.

Ross, I tow all the time and it's a dream!!! Quick response, tons of quiet power, low egts, and not a single adjustment needed since install. Basically set it and forget it regarding the Aurora system. I keep monkeying with Smarty settings, but even on SW 1 it tows like a dream. I can pull a 12,400 lb trailer up a 5 or 6% grade and never see over 1100 degrees. I have never had to give it more than half throttle under any towing conditions, and even then, I get 30-40 psi. By the way, I still have stock injectors, head bolts, and fuel system.
