snowracer, I did not see that in your signature line otherwise I would have deleted your posts earlier.

I'm sorry!

You can delete my post, if you want, because I'm not affiliated with any trans. I'm just a member who pays my dues and wants to get as much info as possible, biased or not.

I really do belive I have the intelligence to make descerning decisions.

I joined this forum for informatiom and opinions. I feel that is being inhibited. If a vendor, who doesn't claim vendorship. can post (with an ovivious bias) then I think people's opinions should be allowed also.

How many of these 'opinions' come from first hand knowledge? To me, it really doesn't matter.

I'm looking for information, feeling, perspectives.

THE WHOLE BALL OF WAX

Then I can make an informed decision.

Sorry, but I feel my decision making capacity is being infringed upon.

That's crystal clear, but if your an $ advertiser $ it would be in the TDR best interest for you to sell more product. And bad publicity is not a good way to do that, now is it

Steve St. Laurent:

My thanks to you for "keeping everyone straight" including me! :-laf

IMO, the TDR Policy on these transmission threads is a good one.

I knew last night when I saw Stefan post that there might be

some problems and sure enough, there was!

Thanks again Steve.

Actually, vendors are REQUIRED to have their vendor affiliation in their signature line and we also add it below their name on the left hand side. If someone is affiliated with a vendor and doesn't have it listed then it's because we aren't aware of it and if made aware of it will fix it ASAP. This has nothing to do with protecting an advertising vendor at all. ANY vendor can get a subscription to the magazine and post in the forums. ANY post about ANY transmission vendor will have this same rule applied to it - whether they are an advertiser or not. I couldn't begin to keep track of the number of hours we have spent over the years dealing with bickering users and vendors of different automatic transmissions! This policy allows people who have direct experience with the product in question to post freely and keeps out those that may have a vested interest in bashing a product. If you are a recent subscriber you have no idea what we have gone through in the past in dealing with this. This was a last resort that we had to implement in order to maintain a degree of civility on the forums.

When everyone signed up for access to the forums they agreed to the policies. They have been developed over 6 years of running this site and EVERY one of the rules in there have reasons behind them that were discovered over those years. We expect people to abide by them and continued breaching of them by any individual will result in resorting to the strike system.
