If you were originally planning on running a controller that was gonna be about $400 anyway, with DTT Torque Converter you don't need to spend the money on that controller, so the Billet Input shaft and hub would less than $300 more than you were originally looking at spending. Even EMcBride that was sponsored by ATS broke an Input shaft. When a Input breaks the results aren't pretty. And remember all billet shafts aren't created equal.
If you can't get an OPIE shaft I still would feel to confident.
