Question for those who tow with twins

Who sells new motor mounts?

If you were originally planning on running a controller that was gonna be about $400 anyway, with DTT Torque Converter you don't need to spend the money on that controller, so the Billet Input shaft and hub would less than $300 more than you were originally looking at spending. Even EMcBride that was sponsored by ATS broke an Input shaft. When a Input breaks the results aren't pretty. And remember all billet shafts aren't created equal. :) If you can't get an OPIE shaft I still would feel to confident.

I have recent experience with the ATS TC, HP Valve Body and Trans Command. I have the Banks Performance upgrade and it's a great combo. Happy with the investment. (3K) Just my . 02

Ahhhhh..... 3 things that won't be on my truck! (I can't afford Banks electronic products, I think most know what I mean ;) )

Now what about that hot rod VB? Will it hurt my (daily driver) transmission?

Or should I go for the towing setup?

I love a hard shifting transmission, but don't want any problems...

Come to momma, call DTT and have them fill out a profile sheet on you and your truck, then trust their judgment regarding how your transmission should be built. You will not be sorry. It equals one good engine bomb in performance. SNOKING

Great idea. From my little bit of experience during the research of TC's, the valve body alone will work. So will the TC alone. The wallet and needs will dictate your final decision!

So what. You've posted about breaking an input in your truck, too. Let's not skew the truth by saying only one brand will break a shaft

I belive I am only missing two components DTT makes for the 47RE... those being the intermediate shaft and the flexplate. I have now done countless 20-25 psi 4x4 launches and hit the lockup switch the instant I'm in 2nd gear and have never had a single issue with my transmission.

"masters of lockup"... #ad
#ad
I'm not sure how much more "locked" than locked you can get... especially when I'm manually telling it to lockup and shift 2-3 and 3-4 locked.

My point of view, once again....

I really feel that if you're springing the money for a performance transmission, then why the hell would you quiver over another 6 to 7 hundred for an input shaft that you know will not break with the hp that you want???

I've read too many threads about the input shaft breaking and 9. 99 times out of 10 it requires a complete disassebly and rebuild of the trans, and T/C replacement.

If you have 2 more months to save up for the DTT trans, then save up another month for the input shaft. If anything else it will give you a piece of mind when you launch at 10 to 20 psi, or lock the T/C.

The shaft will snap when it wants to, so it's your decision.

Have fun

Curtis

ATS stage 4. No billet here.

150,000 miles on the truck.

4x4 launches with 1. 8x 60 foot times locked up before the rear tires crossed the start line. 13. 8's in the 1/4. 500 hp.

Used daily for delivery truck in stop and go traffic.

No broken parts and still shifts like the day it was put in.

Thats all I have to say.

I had an ATS in my truck for about a year, it was better than stock, but it does not feel as good as my current Suncoast. I think you made a wise choice by going with DTT. In fact I may be selling my Suncoast to my brother and trying a DTT, that way I can say I have tried all three. :D People who have them seem to love em. :)

1FSTDSL, DTT has some really cool things for the twin crowd. Where's snowracer69, how's your full Billet Meal Deal treating you?

TravisG over in Apache Junction I think has all 3 brands in his 3 trucks.

Check the previous page. ;) Besides me wanting to play with my voltage regulator constantly, everything is extremely good.

I forgot that I posted on here. I just think that these threads are goofy. I was just a playin' with Doug S. I actually didn't break the input shaft, the forward clutches welded together if I remember correctly.

Everyone has their own experiences with the aftermarket transmission parts. I think DTT has a great group of followers, which are obviously believers and I respect them for their decisions. We are just lucky to have choices, where we used to not have any good ones! Right?
