Yessir, the western division of the DHRA is accepting membership registration now. This will be division 6 and encompass WA, OR, CA, AZ, NV, ID, MT, UT, CO, as well as BC & Alberta Canada for now.

and use the registration form there. Print it, fill it out, and send it with your membership dues of $30. 00 to the address listed.

Your division 6 director is the notorius Richard "MADDOG" Madsen outta the badlands of southern UT. He is in charge of keeping you organized regarding Div. 6 events. I am your official head cheerleader in charge of absolutely nothing at all :) I intend to get to all the races if at all possible. Economic times may have a bering on all that :(

Races are planned for:

Bremerton WA. Bremerton Raceway July 13

Denver, CO. / Bandimere Raceway July 27

Woodburn, OR. / Woodburn Dragway August 2

Tenative...

Salt Lake City, UT. / Rocky Mtn. Raceway September 14

Let's get the ball rolling out here in the west and get in on the ground floor of what is sure to be a terrific sporting endeavor:cool:

Please check the Division 5 box until it can be changed on the website. Maybe even re-fashion the 5 to look like a 6. :D

Thanks.

Oooops!!!

Christians post caused me to realize I have made a monumental error in that I did not include the boys from the north. I will edit my post to include BC and Alberta too. Canucks are welcome and further, are encouraged to participate.

Hey Nowel, what about the guys farther North. . like Alaska?? I am going to join just for the sticker and t-shirt..... although there is a drag strip up here and they do let diesels race... . :D

Alaska???

Geez John, hadn't figured on races in AK:confused:

When I lived there all we raced were snogoes and dog sleds, neither on a 1/4 mile track;)

Maybe we could make you division 18:D

Your Right!

That's a great place for a drag strip! Guess I should make a return trip to AK one of these years.

When I saw that pic I guessed it was near Mt. Alyeska, the ski resort. But it's in Palmer, Matanuska valley area. I really like that neck of the woods. Home of 20lb. cabbages due to the long days in the summer : ) The ag stuff in that area reminds me of the central CA valley where I grew up. Warmer then Tok too!!!

Nice attitude Jim, you can race in any division you want. We need more than two or three folks that are serious about racing to start calling tracks and setting up races. We are working hard on getting Division 5 set up so please be patient.

That just tickles the I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER out of me!!

Ruffled your feathers, brought you out of your shotgun approach and back to reality, all with one comment!!

Nowel,

You got it right, the strip is in the valley as we call it. The only part that is wrong is the size of the cabbage. I believe this years winner was over 80lbs... . not that it has anyting to do with drag racing, unless you want a cabbage as a trophy.

I have never been to the track. I was all set to go out last year but it rained on us and I was sick as a dog. One of our AK Diesel Bombers (Puffin Smoke) went out and did real good. Ran a 13. 8 if I remember correctly. He impressed alot of guys as I heard people talking about that black truck with stacks alot among the drag racers I know.

I will be going out this summer.

Very cool, but I have a question on the rules. Can I race a diesel powered car? In the rules it mentions pick ups.

Thanks

Andrew

We want you to come out and race with us! The thing that has kept me from announcing it to the TDI crowd is that some of the races are truck races. The Woodburn race, Phoenix race are two I can think of off the top of my head. On the East Coast almost all of their races are truck races.

In the future we will have more races so we can move away from the truck only races.

Avan, where are you located?

We go to the track from time to time in Sacramento and you could pal along with us. Everyone won't be racing, however a half dozen or so will be getting times on their trucks when we go.

We will be having sanctioned DHRA events at Sacramento too.

I'm way up north (wrt Sacramento). In Albany Or. I would very much like to get a closer look and LISTEN to what you big torque guys are running. I will be at Woodburn on Aug. 2

Andrew

Maybe Div6 could make some calls and see if those races really care if auto diesels race with us, I know the ones in New England said NO.
