Looking to lower EGTS for towing 12,00 lbs. Have read about the 2003 3. 5 “ turbo outlet neck vs. 4” turbo outlet for 2004's and up. Questions I would appreciate some advice on. Seeking no drone, more growl but not too much growl at a decent price with effective EGT reduction.
1. Running edge on # 5 setting. Is 4” exhaust from turbo outlet flange warranted to reduce EGTS ? How much, any fuel economy gain?
2. Concerning upgrading to the 4” turbo outlet, I see the options as Banks ($700 plus) vs. the factory 4” outlet and down pipe. Are there others?
3. Anyone that has done the 4” outlet upgrade, what did you use muffler wise and what was the cost, accessibility of parts/pipe or expertise to get it done?
4. What exhaust systems can you recommend for 2003’s and configuration?
5. Any of you that have left as I with the exception of replacing the muffler, what muffler did you use and what was the egt drop?
Worth noting, this is my horse hauler, client hauler, hammer down vehicle…it does it all. Need to be a little cautious about too much growl when I haul customers around (what a great vehicle! )
Thanks all
