I am converting my truck to an auto. trans and am wanting to run a ratchet shifter. Can anyone tell me if a 47rh case is the same as a 727? thats the only thing close that they list under B&M shifters.

Yes the B&M for a 727 will work just fine.

I use one of their pro-ratchets in my 1/2 ton Cummins truck.

Also, I've done a ton of full man VB swaps while utilizing a B&M, Hurst, etc... shifter. Just get any aftermarket shifter that will work for a 727 transmission. Your OD will have to be activated by an electrical signal.

Sweet, i was hoping i could use the B&M megashifter for light trucks. It has a taller base. I planned on getting one with a button on the handle for O. D. Did you run a man. valve body behind a cummins auto?

Slush,

Summit or Jegs sells them. I use Summit over Jegs all the time. Jegs sold me a customer tried and returned wheel along time ago and it left a bad taste in my mouth. When I buy new and $$$ stuff I want a factory sealed box on my doorstep.

Off rant.

Do some more research before you buy, but it seems 80% of the 727 Chrysler guys say Cheeta is the best.

T-Handle & Button included.

Perhaps TDR member Hammer will see this and chime in.

The mega shifter will work fine for what your intentions are. I don't know that I'd want to use a cheetah shifter in a vehiccle that is driven on a regular basis.

A true "ratchet" shifter will have better street manners.

No offence intended. That is just my oppinion.

And yes I run a full manual VB behind my cummins. As well as have put them behind many other cummins trucks.

98- I've thought hard about going the other way with my '94... What are you going to do with the manual parts you pull off? Let me know if you're lookin to make back some beer money...

I very highly rated shifter is the CHEETAH SCS Shifter

Now Bill... .

Your starting to sound like the old Mopar racer you truely are in your heart... LOL :-laf :-laf   .

I know I will sound very biased on this and have driven alot of different style slick shifting aftermarket shifters in my time, but, none will ever compare in my book to Turbo Actions Cheetah SCS. While guys who "look" at the shifter will "think" they are tough to drive or handle for everyday street use,I can attest to the ease at which you can use them and how durable they are. When your slipping home from work and find yourself pressed into a duty which means the loud pedal is dialed up,swift positive shifts with no jamming can be assured and money can be collected afterwards. Many a night I made coin while easing home and all of my street battles were won while Cheetah equipped, but, thats another thread story. The few losses I ever had came at the expense of Hurst equipped shifters(one a rachet shifter the other a POS vertical gate). I'd recommend the Cheetah to anyone over many of the more stylish, sleek looking, wanna be race shifters.

Of course I am very biased being a old Mopar racer and what Bill says is true above. You look inside most of the fast Mopar Stockers and Superstockers and you'll find more Cheetah's than anything else.

Its kinda ironic I slip into the house and find this thread. Tonite while driving home from a friends shop I was chatting with Brad Kirk about removing the stick out of my 98 12ver due to some upcoming surgery which will leave me unable to drive a row boat for 5 months. I had told him I even wanted to slip in a airshifter to help with me with the one arm wheelman duties. When the project is done there will be a Cheetah sitting proudly inside my ride... ... Andy

Sounds like a good shifter. The only other shifter i ever used I believe were hursts. They were in a couple chevy II's that i owned. They seemed to work ok, but i have nothing to compare to really. I ended up ordering a B&M light truck megashifter. Its fully ratchet, and the main reason i ordered it was because it has a taller base for trucks which i definitely need. I appreciate the input though andy. If i ever purchase one for a car again, i'll look into one, but the b&m seems like it will work better for this application.

Good Luck with the B&M as I kinda relate how I think of them to ho we all here think of Banks Power. A company who spends a load of money on research and development and then makes us all pay twice to make less power with their products.

I would only ever consider one other shifter IF you could find one for street or competition usage other than the Turbo-Action and that would be the Winters Performance. To get one of those now you have to go through Maverick Performance and I have no love for the people who run that joint. Shame of it is,Winters products are made 10minutes from my house and you have to deal with a bunch of blooming idiots to get their products. Good Luck with the shifter... ... ... . Andy

I agree with the banks statement, but it looks like the research on B&M shifters has paid off, I personally have never had any trouble out of the two i have owned. I dont know what the cheetah costs but i personally think the B&M looks better and offered the taller base for pickups. The cheetah is probably a good shifter, i just leaned towards the B&M, It was a pretty good price also.
