Thanks guys!

I guess if I unscrew the fitting, it would have the pickup tube on it... are they aluminum or plastic tubing? I'm only hesitant because they threads may be corroded... I have one aluminum tank that's got a screwed up thread already.

The one in mine is plastic. I think that is a 1/4" pipe thread, if it galls up there is probably enough meat left to go to a 3/8" fitting. bg

The fitting closest to the center line of the tank is the pickup fitting (it has a 90* fitting on it). There is a plastic pickup tube attached with a screen on the end of it. The fitting closer to the drivers side is the return fitting. Both are 3/8" NPT. I would reccomend putting JIC adapter fittings in so you can disconnect the tank if needed without having to cut the hose off of the barb fittings.

Great! That will make that part of the installation go better... now to figure out how to get the dyed fuel out of it...

I pulled the fitting, I have the same tygon tubing with the screen on the pickup. All my fittings came out. I will probably pull the drain plug out again and use some pipe dope on it... I used tape and it bottomed a little too easy for my liking.

I drained all the red fuel out... still about 8-gallons in it. It smelled "weak", and even though it was clean; I'm going to run some biocide through to make sure there's nothing growing it there! No telling how old the fuel is...

I was able to pull my old setup out tonight, everything but the bedliner is out. I should be able to have it all out and the RDS installed tomorrow night... the hard part, hooking into the OE tank, is done. I'll need to pick up some 1/4" self tapping screws to mount my pump and filter, and to hold the tank in place. Seems strange not seeing that old box in there... its been in this truck since 2004.

Speaking of aux fuel tanks. . Has anyone ever tried to mount a C&C 52 gal rear mounted tank under a 03+ pick up? Shadrach

Update It's too big to fit there.
