I would send your HX-40 to Piers and enjoy the cool temps when it gets back. I sent two of them to him and I'm impressed with both of them. They start to spool at 1500 rpm's and both trucks wont get over 1100* unless I'm pulling a hill. They still will get warm pulling a trailer though. I went to bigger injectors on my eth truck and the temps came down with the PDR HX-40. Stock @ wot was 1200*, with 275's 1300*, and DD2's + PDR HX-40 is 1100*.

Inexpensive to "Piersify" the HX40

I just talked to Piers last week about doing his magic on an existing HX40 because I was looking at buying one used from Big Bob. Piers says $150 to do his stuff to it (machining housing, balancing, etc. ) unless the bearing or something needs rebuilding, in which case you are looking at about $235 for the whole job.

Surging souldn't be due to the DD3s.



the lag off the line IS the turbo. I left over a 100' of rubber in third yesterday after spinnin thru 2nd:D:D:D



My injectors are no longer DD3s ... now they are StageXX custom jobs. all I can say is. . WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:--) :--) the KwikSpool B1 ROCKS:D



Still driveable and runs like a 'recently violated primate' :-laf:-laf



I like the rough ride and it looks cool. I think I'll keep it.

Well, SOMEONE has to help me keep the credit card companies in business. . I can't do it all by myself;):D:D:D



The small housing B1 is awesome you can hear it spool off idle. Large amounts of boost and power really come on well at 17-1800rpm below that there is a little lag but it's still a rocket.



Lately I found that 50-80mph in 5th is a blast. I go to pass at 50 and before I get around the car I'm shifting to 6th at 80+... . just in time to let off the go pedal to keep the cloud out of their car:D:D



I'm having so much fun with it it should be illeagal. . oh wait, it might be ;)

Mark, unless some sort of money miracle happens that allows me to start with a set of twins(yea... right) I'll end up with one too and guess I will use the smaller housing too, that's what Kurt and I talked about! I'm real interested in seeing how well it's going to act with the 89 converter allows me to flash it just a bit then tighten up in the upper R's, think I can give his some good feed back as by that time I'll be going to the track for R&D also and not just on the street.
