COBRAJET:
Welcome back buddy!!

I haven't seen you on this site
for awhile, but then I am not on here as much either!
As the other members already pointed out, my son and
I have run both the B-1 and Piers HX-40/16. I also ran
a "stock" HX-40/16 on my 12 valve and can tell you
there is no comparison between Piers' Modified HX-40
and the "stock" HX-40. Piers' HX-40 does EVERYTHING
twice as good with added reliability!! Between my son
and I our Piers' HX-40 has run on either my truck or his
for about a year now with no problems at all!!
I concur with everything my son has already wrote.
Before running Kurt's "Quickspool or Auto Housing"
B-1, I ran the "regular housing" B-1. As my son said,
the "Auto Housing" has a tendency to "skip" when
towing a trailer over bumpy roads. I called Kurt about
this and he advised me to try changing air boxes to
see if it would help. The "Auto" housing B-1 did it
with every air box I ran! Kurt felt the reason the
KS housing was doing this was because of how
close the have the "map" range of the turbo set.
He may have a "fix" for this by now, so it may no
longer be a problem, but on my truck it is!
With my automatic, I do have more bottom end
"lag" with the B-1 than I ever had with Piers'
HX-40/16, but the midrange and top end are
awesome! I guess it comes down to what you
want from your turbo. Both Kurt and Piers are
great to deal with and both of them believe
in "service after the sale!"
Good luck on your decision and welcome back!
