What kind of H. P and how much boost are you getting out of the B1. I want to get near 550 H. P. with out going to twins at this time.
 
550hp with a single charger is doable, but you're going to be giving up a lot in terms of drivability.



With your lift and MT/Rs, you're not going to like a smoky, laggy truck with no bottom end. I've heard of full B1s being pushed to 58psi, and after that, they're pretty much off the map.



If you're looking for more HP, you're going to have to swap injectors anyway.



I guess what I'm saying is that I'd shoot for a little less HP, keep the injectors and box you have now, just give yourself enough air for the DD3s/BC combo. A KSB-1 will spool enough to live with and should give you enough air to burn what you have. 450Hp is a lot and doable with a single. 550Hp is generally past the point of diminishing returns in the real world.

I am going to swap out injectors for some 150 H. P. edm's and a edge drag comp and I already have a stage 2 water/meth kit I have not installed. I would like to stay with 1 turbo and get to 600 with the water/meth. Do you think this is doable?
 
most anything is do-able . . HP for sure... now as to streetable Hummmm

remember altitude is our enemy... wish it wern't buttt. .



water meth comes on after the smoke show is almost over on the street. . if you set it to lower boost #'s you'll likely flame out.



did you go down to Garnerville [sorry I didn't make this one] and see some of the fueled up rigs, some of them had twins I'm sure and even with them they were a smoke show, you want to have as much or more injector and a drag comp and single charger with water meth



non of my business but the ##'s don't add up for a steet rig that high. . JMHO

Hey old man,I did not make gardnerville I had my wifes family reunion at my house and did not get a chance to sneak out. I did go to yerington and got third place which is the best I've done so far.



If I remeber right your over 500hp what is your setup if you don't mind me asking?
 
The B-1 is good to about 500 HP. To go above this on just diesel you will need a bigger charger, and with this comes lag... ... You have a standard transmission so that will help you out with lag, but the large tires are going to hurt you.



I agree with Justin, get a B-1 but lower your expected HP. 450-500 is a respectable level on the street!

I haven't dyno'd. R. ebel, who is a fellow bomber over 500hp with a B1-2t said I've got the fuel for the mid to upper 500's, but need the air to burn. I've got EDM 3's & PDR40-16.



This PDR40 has been cut with the mods so that it can be used in twins. When the $ is right, I'll pair it up with the HT3B-23 or 26, or whatever is in the current PDR kit. I'd like to find a 'take off' PDR kit w/o the 40 & reduce the $.

I think NOS would be a better option than the meth. The NOS will allow you to either spool a larger charger or extend the breathing of a smaller one (at the risk of overspeeding and explosion).



There are a lot of drugs you can run though these things-- meth, propane, nos, etc. I think NOS is the best by far-- no risk of corrosion, no risk of detonation, easier on the HG than propane.



The 150 edms will be streetable with a larger charger, but it's a poor compromise in any kind of altitude. Big enough charger to cool those injectors= lag from hell=smoke and bad mileage. Small enough charger to spoolup and run clean= hellacious EGTs.



I'd go with a KS B1 or a full B1B (bigger housing, smaller wheel) charger that can handle 450hp, and shoot the spray to hit 600hp.

guys TJ is at around 4500'. . and in a very "sensitive area" as to the smoke issue and smoke police. . Reno sits in a bowl that gets ugly in winter with a dark brown haze over the whole bowl. . so I was trying to "help" him think this issue through even if my thoughts are not yourn. . his balance act is a tuff one to acheive as to power lag and smoke. . especially when you understand that the smoke police are cracking down in northern Nevada!

I live at 4000 ft and face some of the lag/smoke issues with no smoke police issues, so understand what the smoke issue is as to power/lag

I have DDIII's, Drag Comp, Piers HX40,4", have a water meth to install [mostly for pulling and EGT's whil pulling the 5er but maybe a lil bit O meth juice when a play day comes along :D]



I am in line for a cam , twins, stage II head and O ring and maybe a couple other things all for towing the 5er . . at least that's what I convinced my wife of :D [ok ok a play day or two now and then]. . I have no plans of higher than 550 though.
 
Well fellas I have a 2002 24 valve with a B1 steroid (the first one built it was for larry crawford not through piers) and no drugs or water and I just put down 604hp! And my wife drives this truck everyday. (takes my 1 year old to the sitter) Yes it does smoke but you can drive it so it doesnt smoke.
