I went to my local parts store - Baxter's in Portland, and wanted to get some real good back-up lights. I found them! I've screwed around with all the frilly driving lights, fog lights etc and they all suffer from one problem - they STINK!. Oh they're ok when new - but that doesn't last. This is why. They are not water proof. Look carefully at them and they all have a small halogen bulb that fits in a container that is intended to be put on the front of a vehicle. When you place it backwards at the rear, they the water simply pours in, as there are holes everyplace. The solution - don't laugh - is a rubber tractor light, that is made by PM - cost about $16. It's secret is a sealed beam! Small about 4". But don't get the one that comes standard. It's only rated at 4000 candlepower. You can upgrade to a 110,000 powerbeam for another $12-13 each. You need to change the wire inside, very simple and I ran twelve guage directly to the battery, and a HD switch. Now Can I see to load my jetboat at those nasty steep ramps where there is no light. I CAN SEE!!!!!!! There are probably other solutions - but this is the best I've seen!
