Backed up orders on "600"

Hi just wanted to see if anyone else is having the same problem I am. I ordered my 2004. 5 3500 dually quad cab 4x4 6spd on Jan 5,2004 and it sat on BG code till 1/26 then when I called them on the 1/27 they said it wasnt ordered on time and wont be able to get a build date untill sometime in march. I have noticed alot of you have delivery dates already, just wanted to see if any one is going through what I am. Thanks APence

Mine is already delivered to Glenn millers Dodge in Long Beach but I don't want it because it's a loaded slt . I decited on a fully loaded truck with a nav and sireus radio instead so if anyone wants a fully loaded slt 4x4 white over silver two tone quad-cab short bed with leather and a 6 cd changer turbo diesel 325/600 there is one at the dodge dealer in California.

Different dealers have different allotments for the trucks. When I tried to order in December at a Tucson dealer, they told me it would be a March build with April delivery. There allotment is only 6 per month. I called the dealer in Denver where I bought my last two trucks, and they got it built on Jan. 8. Their allotment is 65 per month.

thanks for the reply, I actually ordered it from New Mexico and I was thinking there must be something like that , that gives certain delears more alotments.

I ordered my truck 5th jan and it was built 1/22 and shipped 1/25 It should be at the dealer here in w texas at the end of next week

Great. I guess I will be waiting a VERY long time for mine then. I ordered from a small dealer in Arizona and I can't imagine that their allotment is very high.

New Ride

What is really depressing is mine was built on 1-13 and is still sitting in JS status. Dealer doesn't know why. DC doesn't know why. Can't figure this out



I'm going to have an old new truck when it arrives!!

George, I know how your feeling. Mine was ordered December 3rd, built on January 9th and is still sitting in Mexico. I think what is happening is that the clamps are in, being used on production line and factory is correcting previous built trucks when they choose to. Not a very good way to handle sold orders.

Just called DC this morning and my truck has been built since 1/20 and it still sits as JS status as well.

Talked to DC and dealer this morning and both said truck was released yesterday and should be on rail by end of week to Oregon. Sold my other Dodge last July..... long time! Won't do that again.

Great news on your truck release. Did they say released from what? exhaust clamp? other quality check? etc



Maybe that means mine built on 13th will move soon.

George, DC and the dealer did not say what the truck hold was coming off of. I am sure it was the clamp issue. Was told this morning that the system was updated as of yesterday. Not sure how often that occurs. I was told by DC this morning that the next hurrdle is getting enough trucks to fill a rail car heading towards a specific area. Did get the feeling this morning that trucks on clamp hold are now moving out. Hope this helps. Your truck and mine were built very close in time to each other so I bet yours will be moving along also. Would like to state that this site sure has been a blessing to me during this wait. Always helps to share information with others, even when it is information we might not want to hear. Thank you.

Delivery Duration?

Hello, I'm new to this forum but wanted to post a question. I ordered an '04. 5 on Jan 26th and am anxiously awaiting delivery. I wanted to know how long it took for each of you to recieve word your machine was at the dealer, especially if you live, or ordered, from a dealer in colorado.

Usually about eight weeks for me in Oregon. Many variables can change that time from plus to minus. As soon as the dealer puts your order in, you can get a von number from the dealer and start calling DC at 800-992-1997 to see how it is moving along.

I got it. Dealer was absolutely fantastic. All preped and Sirius installed when I got there. Did the paperwork and I'm gone. Truck looks great. Really quiet, I like that. I can actually hear the radio. More later. Pics when there is some daylight.

ceastmen, it looks like it is going to be about 8 weeks for me also. I ordered mine 12-12-03, it was built on 1-13-04 and as of yesterday, still in Mexico in JS (built and moved to local storage) status. My dealer says he has not been billed yet and it is usually about 2 weeks after he is billed until it arrives. So, I am in high hopes it will move yet this week. As you can tell I am ready to see my new ride!
