Ive been having a wierd problem with my backup lights. When I put the truck in reverse at an idle the reverse lights come on like normal but when I give a bit of throttle to back up they briefly go out then come back on.

If I keep my foot on the brake so the truck doesnt move and tap the gas they will also blink out for a sec. so I dont think its a short from the truck in motion. Im not really sure where to start looking for a problem, maybe something in the trans? Has anyone else had this problem?

My wife's truck started doing this - - - then had to wiggle the selector lever to get lights to work at all. Changed out the switch on the side of the transmission (neutral safety/back up) fixed the problem --- Bought switch from autozone - - not too expensive and an easy change job - - - takes a deep socket but dont remember size.
