So I bought diesel at a kinda shady gas station today. They were selling diesel for $2. 09 though, so I couldn't resist. They only took cash and I didn't have much so I didn't fill the truck up. Well a little later it started dieing when I came to a stop. If I pushed in the clutch and let it drop to idle when the engine was turning faster than about 1500 rpm it would drop right through idle and die. If I waited until the engine was spinning at closer to 1000 rpm when I pushed in the clutch it would settle into idle though.
So anyway, after driving for a while I stopped at a truck stop and filled it up (about 14 gallons) and it immediately stopped. It runs just fine now and doesn't die, so I can only conclude that the fuel I bought at the first station was no good, but I was wondering why? What would make diesel so bad that it would cause the truck to do this?
